There are 42" budget displays from Panasonic and LG at that price point.

Plasma is undoubtedly the best for cable TV and watching your favorite TV series. It won't be suitable for data use with your Mac Mini though.

A 42" Panasonic plasma can be had for under 25K Php cash. Avoid Samsung plasmas, sirain sila.

Thats the main reason why i wanna switch to a new display...i'm using a lg 50" full hd plasma right now... its not good for plasma nga daw kapag nakakabit sa computer because of stagnant pictures all the time...kaya i guess lcd or led yung route ko...ok din yung mga hindi branded na display

You should just keep your 50" plasma and purchase a separate monitor for data use. Cable TV and TV shows in SD are horrendous on an LED/LCD, especially if it's big. You might feel bad replacing your plasma afterwards.

You should aim for an LCD/LED TV that accepts native RGB without additional processing. You'll know it's accepting a full range RGB input without processing if the image looks a bit pale and the picture is extra sharp. I don't know which LCD/LED TVs at the moment can do that. Virtually every LCD/LED TV has a VGA input, but some don't forgo the processing even with a VGA input and some of them don't accept RGB input via HDMI. YCbCr isn't good for data.

Perhaps the others know of LCD/LED TVs that can fully turn off any additional processing.
