I suggest kung ala ka plan na mag upgrade get the HTIB 5.1 pero kung may plan ka mag 2.0 ka muna para unti unti mo buuin.  ;) ;)

pagisipan mo mabuti if you will go the htib route or even the polk tsi100. kung ako, unahin ko muna yung front speakers na maayos sa pure audio listening. also, should be flexible enough to be placed as surrounds sa future in case of upgradititis. partner it with a receiver that has a good amp section para maitawid lng. tsaka na muna yung center, sub at surrounds when additional budget comes along. mabubuo mo din yung straight system before you know it. good luck!  ;)

I like both routes (5.1 and 2.0). pero nasa isip ko, gusto kong mag-upgrade sa future.  ::)

Agree ako kay Master Patrick, maski di nya inaupdate ang signature nya ng mga latest toys na hinakot. :P

I understand your dilemma. Yan ang tinatawag na masarap na problema! ;D

5.1 HTIB - Instant gratification. Meron ka agad complete 5.1 HT set-up pero yung tunog is relatively mediocre. Chances are you're going to upgrade din agad.

2.0 first then slowly to 5.1 - Long term satisfaction. The sound quality will be far better compared to an HTIB. Matutuwa ka dahil paganda ng paganda tunog ng HT mo as you add more components. The itch for upgrades will always be there. But if you start off with a good foundation (your preferred main speakers + a mid-end A/V receiver), the chances of you upgrading is lesser.

+1 to this.

back when i started, i had 50k as budget.  i bought a 25k receiver and a 25k HTIB.
the receiver lasted awhile longer, but the HTIB was a total "loss" when upgrading.
25k could buy a decent receiver with preouts back then.

i would recommend the receiver + 2.0 route.  then add a sub.  then new fronts (move old fronts to rears).  then center.

I'd go for the Midlevel Receiver + Front Speakers for the 45k budget.

You can check out the new genesis collection from Anthony Audio.
If brand conscious, the RTi A3 would be a good startup speakers given the budget.

I'll probably go for an HK AVR 265 or Onkyo 609/ 616 + Polk TSi 100 for the fronts. I'll relegate the TSi 100s to surrounds when I have the budget for floorstanders and a center channel.
