Kapag lilinisin mo iyung lens make sure tubig gamitin mo.

bumili ako kanina ng Xtreme dv-006 for 2,200 sa raon kaso may problem nag stuter/freeze yung video/audio kapag dvd based ang divx/xvid files pero kapag cd based ok lang. pati dvd discs nag stuter din hindi ko kasi na test puro divx/xvid disc ang nadala ko kaya babalik pa tuloy ako bukas badtrip! :(

The cotton buds and water cure worked.  Didn't need to make adjustments on laser alignment. My 6500 is working like new.  Thanks again, guys!!!

Mga bro,

I have a problem on my XTREME 6500A  player, may nabili kasi akong dvd na may parental lock, problem is di ko mabago yung parental lock setting ng player ko kasi di ko alam ang password nya. Could anyone of you happen to know the default password ng XTREME 6500A  players?

Thanks in advance sa mag-re-reply.

Does it has built-in hard disc containing videoke songs? Or you just have to load videoke disc like other dvd/vcd player with karaoke function?

The model that had games incorporated in it, seems to be a rebadged "Lexing" and I'd avoid it since, from what I know, the games and FM tuner(there's a model that has one) contributes to overheatring, thus, diminishing the chipset's longevity. These group of players (DV-006 to DV-009) has the same chipset of Lexing and are being sold for 1.9 to 2.1K.
There's a newer midsize model, that still has the Mediatek chipset, and is also DIVX capable, I just forgot the model #, and they sell these models at 2.2 to 2.4K.
There are around 6 models to choose from, and they're all available at the Raon Shopping Mall.

have you tried connecting it through the s-video?  does it work?

i've connecting mine over the weekend but unfortunately there's no video coming out.  i',m not sure which is not working, its either the cable, the s-video in of my tv or the s-video out of my player.

You probably hit the progscan/VGA button, thus there'll be no video output for S-video. ;)

Bro,

Have you tried playing the 8-In-1 discs sa ibang player?  Baka kasi yung encoding ng disc ang problema eh... also encountered it in my NOVA player which uses the same chipset gaya ng XTREME 6500A and I've isolated the problem as disc-related.  :)

Thanx for the advice bro, i tried the "defective" disks on my brother's x-box and it ran well, then i tried a couple of 8-1 or series dvds on my xtreme and the result was 2 worked while 3 didn't, so my conclusion is that the xtreme is not able to synch some disks that were "poorly encoded" but could work on "better" players.

thanks for the info, dude....   im having problems right now sa dv-6500 ko.  i dont know kung normal wear and tear lang.  namimili na ng disc.  sometimes it play, sometimes it dont.  tried to isolate it on good dvd, ok naman..  meron talagang disc na unstable pag pini-play nya.

any advise guys?  baka pwede pa ma repair to?

im planning to buy a new one na rin, should be capable of playing divx and wmv formats.  any suggestions guys?

thanks,

Just come across this thread.  I bought my Extreme sometime in 2004 for 3,400 (if I'm not mistaken).  I was impressed by its feature although it was priced at the level of NextBase.  It worked fine for the first 3 or 4 months, then it started to be choosy with the discs it plays.  So I brought the unit to Raon Shopping Center where I bought the unit for repair.  I was told that they'll bring me directly to Extreme's service center just on the second floor of that building, it turns out that one small dingy room was already their service center, inside it is one guy from PROC (CHINA) who can't speak any language except Mandarin who was the only person there during that time.  He was actually browsing the internet when I went there.  Inside the room was a mess of spare parts of dvds and several players stacked up in total disarray.  He opens my unit, pull a set of lens assembly in one of the box that has piles of such parts that was just lying there, plug it in then give back the unit to me after having it tested.  By the way, the reason why they brought me to the hidden 2nd floor repair center is that they thought I could communicate with the Chinese there, but it turns out that he can't speak Fookien but only Mandarin, so I also had a hard time talking to him.

However, seeing how he handles the parts such as throwing it around, not handling it properly, using trial and error from the parts from the open box that contain lens assembly (I don't even know if those parts were from replaced units or what.  I am doubtful on the way/quality of the service.  And as I expected, the repaired unit didn't last more than a month with me and it starts becoming too choosy again.  At the end, I just give leave it for the maid to use - if they can chance upon discs that will play.

I would say, EXTREME is rolled out without proper QUALITY CONTROL, so it's a hit or miss chance if you'll get a good unit or a lemon.  Good luck for those who will buy Extreme brand dvd, but for me, I'll stay away with this brand.

Hallo guys! My Extreme 6500A ran smoothly for about 1 and 1/2 year before I experienced mis-aligned spindle motor.

After the re-alignment of spindle motor, it lasted for 8 months before it had another problem. Now, my player  CAN NOT Read any DVD although it can still read VCD's, JPEGs and MPEGs and other formats that it used to read, except DVD's.

I remember before it had this trouble, It had a hard time reading DVD's at first loading, what I did before was to re-open the tray and reload the DVD again, until the player is able to read it. Sometimes it took up to 5 trys before it read one DVD.

This time I'm not sure if it's the alignment that's causing the problem, but is it advisable to have this repaired or should I just buy a new player?  How about the lens? baka naman sandali na lang ang buhay talaga nito e, sayang din kung magbabayad pa ako ng P600 sa repair. Please Help po. Thanks!

mga bro, ano kaya gagawin ko sa xtreme dv-6500a ko?  hirap na umikot yung spindle motor.
ayoko na rin ipagawa.  twice repaired na kasi, in its 3yr life, sulit na siguro ako dito.

anyway, just bought a pensonic sk-22usb.  pls check my post sa pensonic thread.
sulit din sa presyong Php 1,600:  div-x, mp4, usb port! 5.1ch daw (di ko pa tested to).
ok na, di ba?
