2d to 3d conversion
« on: Aug 13, 2012 at 06:32 PM »
Am planning to upgrade to 3d television.  Since there is a dearth of 3d material, the most likely feature I would be using mostly in 3d is the 2d to 3d conversion. Does this offer real added viewing pleasure? And which brand / model offers the best 2d to 3d conversion?

2D to 3D conversion on my 50UT30 is not as screen popping as compared to a bluray or SBS source. Lacks the usual depth.  Personally I'd rather watch in 2D nalang rather than use this feature.  But when it comes to 3D material you'd enjoy it.

I kinda expecting these responses. I thought for awhile i can watch my old collection of dvds in a different light. For some, 3d is "nice" to have but will not yet be the main reason for buying these new panels.

For someone like me who just came out of the ice age tech of CRTs and low tech projection tvs, it's a nice feature to have and worth that extra money i added for the "ability"to see 3D effect in the comfort of my couch and home.  8)

Old movies and ps3 games look indeed look "nice" which is good enough sat level for me.  :D
