Free delivery or not,  DOM also sells the 50VT30 for a GOOD price.  Just get in touch with him directly.  I think it's fair business for him and Vic.

Oh, I have nothin to do with his business, but my wife has been nagging me about her 42V20 compared to the 50V2 Im using.  hehehe.   If the ST50 doesnt reach Manila within 2012, the VT30 is definitely the best option IMO.

Can't believe we can have a Panny top of the line TV at less than 40K. Very tempting considering some 2012 models might not be available in the next few months and at a premium of course.
Are the green blobs and other known issues of the 2011 models noticeable from the normal viewing experience? With 'normal' I mean the viewer will not consiously look out for these issues when watching. One thing to consider too is if the 2011 issues were corrected in 2012.

I never had any green blob issues with my Panny 42PV80 OR MY 50C10 SO I DOUBT I WILL NOTICE IT ON MY 42VT30. my brother has a top of the line  60 INCH KURO and I can tell you that the blacks on this unit are as near to that than any i had ever seen.  My brothers Kuro cost him some serious coin and my panny a fraction of the price. (of course his is 60 inches bought 3 years ago) you plasma fanatics should get down to one of the shops and do a demo as you just might be surprised with what you see.

Well I think Panasonic is simply on clearance sale of 2011 models, but then again, it's perfectly OK and indeed a great chance to own a gorgeous TV at its most reasonable price levels.

I think it's fair to say that some people see the so called green blobs and other issues, some people dont even notice them at all, some people dont know about them at all, some people choose to ignore, and some people are OK with the issues because the overall image quality is simply amazing to begin with.  Iba-iba rin ang sensitivity ng tao sa colors and patterns I think.  What about the color blinds?

As dannielsimone likewise advised, see a VT screen first then give us your comment.  You can read stories of issues and praises all over the net, but since the model is now readily available in our favorite in-house sellers, it's definitely worth scrutinizing with your own eyes if you are interested in plasmas.  Who knows even if you actually see those blobs, they might not be a big deal in your real life viewing situations.  And what's the warranty condition of Boss Vic for instance in such a case?

Last time I saw a notable green monster on my V2, it was the incredible hulk.    ;D

The green blob appeared only on the 30 series.  It was not present on the 80 or 10 series.

If you don't notice it on the VT30, don't try to look for it.  Because if you do find it, it will be hard to "unsee" it.  ;)

I am excited na sa VT30 ko,
at first 100hours I should set the contrast and brightness to 40/50 right?

I wish green blob does not exist in my tv set.

planning to get Pioneer HTZ-222BD as well, meron bang Panasonic na 3d player na HTIB na din. :)

Myth in my experience.   Just enjoy it out of the box.  Not gonna make it IR proof, or whatever proof people are claiming.  VT panels will always be more susceptible to IR than lower end models.

How do you look for the green blob on the 30?  Any specific test procedure or material?  Thanks.

Superb talaga ang Plasma compare sa LCD panel.

di pa nakakalibrate pero walang sinabi yung sa PQ ng VT30 ko yung LCD namin sa salas.

anyone can help which HTIB/AV Receiver should I buy(invest) for a bedroom with a size of 7x9 ft (63 sqft).

I am eyeing for HTS3400 pero baka magiba naman yung kwarto ko pag malakas masyado.

Thanks.

Magkano budget mo for the HT system?

Kung pasok budget, might as well get something better than entry level para mas buo ang tunog kahit mahina ang volume (in your 5.85sqm room), tapos perhaps a Polk RTI3 grade na speaker pair (or even a tall boy pair para space saver), plus a matching center speaker and an 8 or 10 inch subwoofer - bale I would suggest a 3.1 speaker set up.

All receiver models released in 2011 and many 2010 models ay 3D ready na, AFAIK.

I got to see this plasma at Listen Up earlier today. it has the best blacks of their available tvs on display. (others on display were the 42UT30, 50X30, and 42ST30)

@_kamatis

for a 25k budget, you could get a Pioneer 521 receiver + Polk TSi 100 bookshelf speakers.  ;)

Are you open to satellites?  Since bedroom set up, satellites for me are the best since they dont occupy too much space.

There is a MS premiere set that is being sold at the market place.  Pair it with a good 10 in sub and youre good to go.

The Pio VSX521 goes for P9,999 cash.

Hope this helps.

Did a side by side demo today of the Onky 313 Vs. the pioneer 521 using my Bose 301.  They sounded very similair but the Pioneer a bit warmer and the Onkyo maybe a bit brighter?
Unfortuantely and probably  neither will handle an upgrade to a more power hungry speaker.  Will now shop around for a while and do more demos.  For now will make do with my rebooted Okyo 525 for  stereo only.  Am sure it will not last to long but one never knows.

The 50VT30 coming to Manila like 1.5 years after launch and more intriguingly, AFAIK, they have stopped regular productions of the 50VT30 since very early this year pa.  Where are those VT30 units coming from?

Check mo rin with DOM about 50VT30.   The figure he hinted on me is lower than 77K, which I think makes sense if you consider that 50 incher is about 1.45 bigger than 42 inches.   If they can sell the 42VT30 for around 40K, perhaps the rest should be arithmetic for the 50 incher - hopefully - hehehe
