hindi ko mahanap yung manuals na kasama,
i was trying to look for online PDF sana,
pero parang mga bagong models na lang
ang meron online docs...

sa tingin ko may ibang pangalan
ang KRF-V5050D model,
kasi made in malaysia ang receiver ko,
baka sa US & other countries iba ang model name

OT: pansin ko with Kenwood (and probably HK, correct me if i'm wrong), they use different model numbers for different continents.

am i missing out or is there a particular reason for doing this?  parang disadvantage pa nga sa tingin ko, because when they have a class-leading product that wins an award or gets a ton of good reviews, they can't take advantage of it.

nasasayangan lang ako coz the different model #'s isn't allowing me to find all available info about a particular model.

korek ka jan akyat,

pero i guess they have specific market for different continents. kakainis nga din minsan kasi yung counterpart nya sa different continent have less feature.

nels, pls confirm kung ano ang wala sa 9060D na meron dun sa 6070.

sa hk kasi, yung avr225 ay may front panel unlike sa (asian and european market), yung unang labas ng 3550 ay wala nun.

Repeat:

Power wise, features wise they are the same.

9060D is in Silver and Gold Color.
VR 6070 is only available in black.

Remote Control:
9060 D - Infra Red
VR 6070 - Black (This is very very cool) You can control the Receiver even if you are in another room without directly pointing the RC to the unit. Best thing is: connected equipment to the VR-6070 is automatically RF-Controlled. You just need IR Repeater. MULTI-ROOM OPERATION TALAGA. Meaning you can also control a DVD Player connected to the VR 6070 even if you are also in another room.

cheers.

Narayan,

I discovered something last night with our receiver.

While watching Finding Nemo on Dolby Digital EX, I turn on the 6th and 7th Channel even without connected Speakers for the purpose of turning on the THX Surround EX Function (You cannot turn this ON unless 6th and 7th channel is ON)

Oh boy! Sound is much cleaner. Voice is smoother and BASS IS HEAVIER. Mas enveloping iyong voice ng whale compared to when the THX is off.

Try it.

What more if 6th and 7th channel is connected?

Yup. Sa setup.

Then, set the 6th channel amp to output SB.

Only then you can turn on THX Surround EX.

Remember, use THX S EX on 6.1 Source like DD-EX or DTS-ES.

Very clean and neat tingnan.

Actually, I am eyeing to buy a surplus amp to power my 6th and 7th channel (preout). I don't need that much power. Siguro mga 60 to 80 watts TRUE Power ox na. Do you have any idea where to buy besides don sa favorite "shopping mall" mo?

Initial plan was that one of the mini-component (SONY) will power my 6th and 7th channel but sa kalumaan puro static na. ayun, magreresign na din.

Hope time will come that my 9060D will be fully utilized - 6th and 7th channel is connected and that a BASS SHAKER is connected to the 6th channel amp.

huhumm. (MONEY, MONEY, MONEY)

Surely, mag-host ako ng EB para madinig niyo naman modest setup ko. Antayin ko lang matapos iyong place namin.

Comment ko lang sa AVR ko average sound lang sa Stereo. I am thinking of having a dedicated setup for Stereo lang and that same amp will power my 2 Surround Back. May Surplus kaya na may Speaker Switch?

nadala ni ermat ung vr 6050 last week. i think the asiann version is krf 6060d. bought daichii slim line speakers with floorstanding for the front. ok naman ang sound. break in pa ang speakers ko. will keep you posted on the performance ff mos.

Product Summary
Kenwood's VR-6050 delivers high-impact 5.1-channel home theater performance thanks to Dolby® Digital and DTS® decoding, advanced 32-bit processing, and 100 full-bandwidth-rated watts x 5 channels of clean Kenwood power. This future-ready receiver even boasts decoding for 6.1-channel Dolby Digital EX DVDs, plus a back surround preamp output. When you're ready to add a back surround speaker to your system to take advantage of Dolby Digital EX's greater realism and three-dimensionality, just hook up a powered speaker or an amp and speaker to the preamp output, and you're set!
For even more multichannel fun, the VR-6050 also includes Dolby Pro Logic™ II decoding and Kenwood's Circle Surround II, which let you transform Dolby Surround and stereo sources into realistic 5.1-channel and 6.1-channel sound, respectively.

The back panel sports an impressive array of inputs for your current (and future) A/V components, including 3 digital inputs, 5 A/V inputs (3 with S-video), and a 5.1-channel analog input for a DVD-Audio or SACD player. The multibrand remote features a joystick that gives you especially easy control of all your A/V components.

Key Features:

I am not sure which model is kenwood's entry level or 1 notch higher AVR that is the equivalent of the AVRs you mentioned. Suggest you visit any 5th Ave. branch so you can check the kenwood model of the same price level and compare its features and performance.

What I can tell you tell is that the model I own Krf-X9060D ( VR-6070 in the U.S.) is the supertest winner (5 stars) in Sound & Vision's October 2002 issue and I am very happy with its performance which is the one thing that really matters. :D
