Thanks for the offer nels76 pero baka hindi ako pwede. Kung malapit lang madaling mag escape. Pag turn nalang ni Narayan madali ko puntahan.

HK receivers have HDCD decoding also. Though Im using Denon receiver, my CD player can decode HDCD. I have several HDCD CD's. I also have the Sound and Vision Disc and SPL meter.

Narayan,

Im free this Saturday or Sunday afternoon, if you want  I can go to your place. I will text you for details medyo OT na ako.

Narayan, Akyatbundok,

You can bring DVD Audio Titles. I understand that some of the DVD Audio Titles are playable on all DVD Players. Bring some and we'll try to play.

Narayan,

haven't got your number yet. anyway, this is mine: 09193382307

Levi,
No prob.

Narayan, Akyatbundok,

You can now bring any DVD's you would want to bring. May hihiraman ako ng DVD Player from a fellow member here. Sasama din siya sa EB. I am referring to James16.

Bring DVD Movies whether R1 to R6, VCD's, CD's. Bring also DVD Audio Software. It's all up to you.

My suggestion though: Listen first to the DVD Movies which you will bring to your own HT Setup then we'll play that on my HT on our EB then give comments (Tunog lata, bitin, ma-echo, harsh, etc.).

My room acoustic is bad. HT is on the 2ndF. Wall and floor made of wood. Speakers (F & C) are positioned very far from the wall.

See ya.

wow.

looks like my dad was right in getting the 9060D.  :)

i do admit i know so little about the finer details of home theater systems but i'm learning as i go.

my dad and i actually setup the HT system in the den ourselves. it was a nice father-son project. (pwede ba pang commercial? Kenwood recievers: brings families closer together.  ;D )

most of the speakers attached to our 9060D are bose(s). only the subwoofer is a non-bose, a ganz klar to be precise. the front, surround, and surround back speakers are pretty old. my dad had them since '94, i think. the only new speaker is the VCS-10 center speaker.

too bad i didn't find this thread sooner. sana nakasama ako sa demo.  ;D

hope you guys can accomodate a newbie like me with questions on the 9060D.  :)

Guys,

I'll meet you 9:30 AM at Mc Donald's Pedro Gil beside PCU along Taft Ave. What time will you be there?

Di ko pa masyado ma-break-in 'yong 912. lagi na ko late umuwi. siguro napatugtog ko lang 1 hour a day.

902 is now set as surround. Sana 'di malaglag. medyo mabigat 902. Around 7kg each. If you're going to ask me, 902 is heavier per unit volume than 912. duda ako doon sa pag-mount ko ng bracket. mukha di matibay.

I'll be there at 930. Suggest you reinforce the mounting- baka madisgrasya sayang naman.

Levi,

Just a suggestion, can we change the title of the thread to Kenwood Receivers instead of the present one as it may encourage owners of other kenwood avr models to also post their messages. At the moment, we are only exchanging ideas about a single kenwood avr model. Just a thought bro. Thanks :)

my findings on the kenwood power amp:

i got this 2ch 130wpc power amp (kenwood km-x1000) for a great price.  when i use it to power my fronts, i get better results vs. my receiver (marantz sr-7300).  the bass is fuller & tighter with livelier dynamics.  the additional 25w certainly made a difference.  plus i think its separate power supply for left & right channels also helps alot, unlike in receivers (of any brand) where all 5 or 6 channels are sharing a single power source.  with my 2-way bookshelf speaker, the difference is not that obvious, as the receiver has no problem driving the 5" woofer.  but with a 10" woofer, the difference is like night & day.

i also tried bi-amping my speaker, with the power amp driving the woofer, and the receiver driving the mids & tweeter.  unfortunately i couldn't adjust the balance since the kenwood doesn't have input level adjustment like some power amps.  the bass is super tight but it overpowers the mids & highs.  the kenwood is 130w while the marantz is 105w.  so i abandoned the bi-amping idea.  except for the higher power consumption, i think that having separate amplification for the fronts is a good upgrade.

9060D users,

Just a tip:

To add a "more vibrating effect" on LFE Signal, connect an AURA BASS SHAKERS to the 6th channel amp of this receiver. It will vibrate together with your subwoofer.

6th channel amp is selectable to outptut LFE signal.
You can get the BASS SHAKERS from DAI-ICHI showrom at 1,000+ per piece. It is a 4-ohmers so you can connect two in series.

Then you can mount the BASS SHAKERS under your couch or on the floor. When the sub kicks, the SHAKER shakes.

I am planning to have this setup. Ipon muna.

Check the link below to see sample setup.

cheers.

hey nels76, narayan & james16:

nice meeting you guys!  nels76, thanks for the chest-pounding demo.  lakas ng setup mo bro, elibs ako esp. that dynamite of a sub.  when we listened to the blue man group dvd-audio, it was really punchy, parang may suntok sa dibdib.  those mordaunt-short speakers driven by the kenwood 9060D can really go loud without being harsh, considering they were positioned in free space with no bass reinforcement from the front wall.  evidence of nice clean power coming from the kenwood.  pre when your house is finished tiyak na lalo pang gaganda with the front wall reinforcement.  nagtanong ako sa 5th ave ubos na daw stock ng 9060D.

akyat,

ur very much welcome. by the way, pawala na talaga iyang 9060D because 9070D and 9080D is coming. looks and features are the same. the difference is on the remote. touch-sensitive. once touch it automatically lits. and also may mga corrections na ginawa. but based sa reading ko sa net, people from the US like VR-6070 (KRF-X9060D) than VR-7070 (KRF-X9070D) and VR-7080 (KRF-X9080D).

My kenwood sub really shakes the wall and the floor without distortion. I'll invite you again once renovation is finished. By that time, 912 shall be placed near the wall. You shall be hearing the slam of 912.

Napansin mo naman siguro when we played EAGLES LIVE. we reached +3 and yet still sounding clean and smooth. And the sub is kicking our a**.

Next time ikaw naman parinig.

cheers.

syempre sir!  we can arrange a convenient time when everybody's available.  yun nga lang i'm not as daring as nels76 when it comes to the volume level... hehe... tapang mo bro, takot nga ako umabot ng -5 eh lalo pa kung +3.  reason is: i blew a tweeter when the speakers were less than a month old.  buti na lang mabait ang 5th ave., they replaced my ms-902 even though i didn't ask for a full replacement; fixing the tweeter only would have been fine.

akyat,

On a Tweeter-Woofer combo on bookshelf speakers, the tweeter will be damaged first when they are being driven by underpowered amps. Siguro na-drive ng underpowered amps 902 mo kaya nasira tweeter. buti pinalitan agad ng 5th ave. Siguro iyon din ang sabi sa kanila ng MS - that they will be replacing defective products F.O.C. kaya No questions asked at pinalitan agad.

OT: what happened to gutierrez' setup?

if you are interested in getting the 9060D, check ABENSONS, AUTOMATIC CENTER, ANSON's or SM APPLIANCE CENTER. Hurry up! they will soon be replaced by 9070D and 9080D.

narayan and akyat,

nice meeting you guys. Thanks to your positive comments. Let me hear yours soon. Sana makadining din tayo ng iba setup, iba brands and combi.
