ahh...the kcx1 and kmx1, thx baby! ;D . I have the kc-z1 (remote control got busted) practically useless now unless I can find a remote. The km-z1 though is still serving me well and is paired with a denon receiver used as its preamp :)

Please comment on these pairings (heavily considering this as an upgrade to my HTiB):
1. Kenwood KRF 9090D + MS Carnival speakers
2. Kenwood KRF 9090D + Jamo speakers (failed to get model)
3. Kenwood KRF 9090D + (power amplifier) + MS Carnival speakers

Also, impedance on carnival is 4-8 ohms, would it match kenwood KRF 9090D?

I have a Kenwood Receiver 2003 Model and Min Impedance Requirement is 8 Ohms.
Baka ma-overdrive ung receiver mo if connected with lower than 8ohms.

I have also a Kenwood - MS setup. The 902 as surround, 905C as Center and 912 as Front which is a 4-Ohmer. Ginawa ko, bumili ako ng NAD Stereo Amp to power the 912. The Kenwood throws the Front Signal to NAD which drives the 912. I can drive them as loud as possible without worry na masira ung Amp and Receiver.

Yon nga lang when watching movies, the NAD and Kenwood have to be turned on at the same time.

Guys, My 6 year old 9060D just went kaput 2 days ago. The standby light just keeps on flashing, even after removing all connections. Is there any kenwood service center here in pinas? I googled but could not find any. Maybe some of the kenwood owners might be able to give me some info. tnx!

Have you tried to reset the unit? There is a procedure of resetting the unit. Better try before bringing the unit for service. Try to read the manual. I think it is written in the manual.

What speakers blends well with kenwood avr's? I am in the market for a surround speaker. I mostly listen to music and some movies. My current speaker is an Infinity bookshelf alpha series, and would like to pair it a matching surround speakers. Thanks. Will be using it in the bedroom. Now only using dolby virtual surround setting. I was tempted to buy a pair of konzert speakers for 1.5k, for the surrounds. But I did not buy it because I might regret it later. Is a good speaker necessary for surrounds? Or is konzert enough?  Thanks.

sir tigkal,

first of all how much po bili ninyo sa kenwood9090?

second, as much as possible similar sa fronts ninyo - for timbre-matching purposes, using different brand will produce "different" sound.  But if you are not that "picky" any small speakers will do.  I use a wharf diamond 9 sr for my rears and a b&w 601 to my fronts.

krf-x9090d used to be 35k but its on sale now at 14K. I was lucky enough to have read tigkal's post and got the last unit from western sta lucia. It's not posted in their website that the item is on sale, and the salesman seemed suprised that i was inquiring about it. Anyway if your planning to get a kenwood then, this is the best time to get it.
At 14K, it's a steal.

When I went to western festival last monday, all remaining six units were sold out and no more incoming units. There is a pioneer on sale at 12.++k. You might want to check it out. It is a 5.1 though, not 7.1.

I have not encountered any muting during switching on of electric appliances. You should use an avr to maintain steady voltage.

There is a MS carnival dipole surround in western. around 6k.Also a wharf sub for 8k. The salesman was enticing me with a 12 months to pay zero interest. I was still looking for other options so he sweeten the offer : 18 months zero interest. Buti nalang sira yung saksakan nila for demo and hindi ko narinig. Baka mapasubo ako. It was enticing though.

I have same fronts. It is an old model infinity . As of now, I am satisfied with its performance. I am looking for a possible upgrade of my fronts, or retain the fronts and add surrounds. I am not pickiy but I also do not want distortions. Anyway, thanks for your inputs.

nakakuha na kasi ako bro ng kenwood krf-x9080d for 14k rin dito sa robinson pioneer. Multicom yung store.

I have had a kenwood/Monitor Audio set-up for the past 6 years and have never gotten tired of listening to it. A friend of mine has a Kenwood/B&W and after intensive listening to both set-ups we both agreed that they sound great. The only thing we could not agree upon was which sounded better. hehehe. We got our kenwood at the same time and auditioned a whole lot of speakers, but we ended up buying diff. brand of speakers, me MA and him B&W. I guess in the end you have to let your ears decide which sounds best for you.

For those who yearns for a decent set-up with Kenwood 9090 you can't go wrong with this receiver.

The most affordable THX-certified avr.

Used to be the high-end model of Kenwood during its prime.

Perfect for those who are not yet into hd, like me.

The offer of Western is good enough.Parang pre owned na rin ang price. 14k at six months to pay, zero interest. That would be around 2.3k per mo.I think you can haggle it to up to one year to pay, if they really want to have a sale.

I own 9060D since 2003 and paired it with Mordaunt Short 901, 905 and 912.
Ok pa rin ang tunog nya on movies for me.

Ang problem nya lang now is that the volume knob is not anymore working.
I just use the remote control for controlling the volume.

By the way, it is paired with a NAD 325 bee. The NAD handles the 912 (Fronts).

Happy owner of a 9080D, paired it with Wharfs 9 series front center and rear. ok naman tumunog (well i havent tried it with other speakers, so no comparison)

my only problem is when i increase or decrease the volume very slowly, i hear some kind of static, i get this on all sources, DVD player, Ipod, Xbox....so i guess its an AVR issue...

anyone who experience the same? bought this AVR for the irresistable 14K tag. sana wala naman problema yung nabili ko... help please...
