Nagsisimula ng bumaba ang prices dito, from the $5000 range before, nasa $3500 na lang ang mga 65"
and the trend is pababa pa rin, I'm gonna wait a few more months then upgrade ako sa 65 or 70,...

Large 4K units can now fall below the $1000 threshold:

I don't think it will compete with the big brands, but it's very cheap for a 4K TV. It costs less than the 1080p models from Samsung or LG.

4K OLED would be great once we can start to afford them... LOL.

OLED's true beauty can only be seen in person as most cameras and displays cannot deliver that level of dynamic range.

Looked all around Yodobashi in Akihabara yesterday for 4k TV's. Cheapest was at  about ¥220k or about 95k.

The best part about the place was the capability to do side by side comparisons. There were dozens of 4k TV's to choose from.

yung 55" nito $580 sa walmart

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Seiki-SE55UY04-55-4K-UHD-2160p-120Hz-LED-HDTV-4K-x-2K/35030328?affillinktype=10&dest=9999999997&oid=100143.1&sourceid=19427990902805857088&u1=6e2b543269e1460d83bde13a9d59b65e&veh=aff&wmlspartner=lw9MynSeamY

kaso di kaya pangit colors ng mga unknown brands? baka yung 4k sa unknown brands kapareho lang ng kulay ng full hd ng known brands?

Color rendition and contrast of this model is worse than good Full HD models from the big brands. Pixel count and size ang main advantage nya, together with price.

would you recommend getting unknown 4k tvs? or stick to full hd known brands?

I'd stick with known brands except for maybe casual PC monitor use (where I truly appreciate 4Kp60). The unknown brands will apply price pressure to the name brands, so the name brand 4k prices will go down over time.

We're starting to see this with name brand 55" 4K TVs selling well below 100k. With our terrible internet speeds and low 4K TV penetration, 4k material would likely take some time to get here. In the US, 4K streaming providers generally require a consistent 15Mbps connection or higher. As for 4K broadcast, the World Cup can be seen in 4K in select countries (the upcoming Asian Games will also be in 4K).

4K cameras are getting cheaper too. Decent ones for casual stills and videos sell for less than $900 (DMC-FZ1000). Sample video below (select 2160p if you're on a 4K display):

Hi PDVD,

I have questions, hope you can help me.
If i have Bluray Player that can upscale to 4k, then my Receiver is also 4k ready,
so it means i can appreciate the 4k resolution if i have UHD tv? sorry guys just asking.
or do i also need 4k movies or 60fps movie?
or is it possible to upscale a blu ray movie 1080p 24fps to 4k via Blu ray 4k capable player to LED tv?

Sorry mga sir, medyo nalilito lang ako

Salamat po sa sirs/mam

My skycable hd digibox is hooked up to a Sony X9004A thru Hdmi, 1080i signal. Maybe check your LGs settings? Hope you get your hd box running. That's a nice tv.

Yup have it checked, hope they're not just giving you the run around BS. So all 2014 4k TVs cant use an HD box? My bros 2 yr old samsung lcd tv had a defective hdmi port(2 of 4 not working) Na reject din yung sky hd digibox niya.

Toslink do you have an av receiver? Have you tried passing through the signal of your STB through your receiver then onto the tv?

if the hdmi ports are defective, that should be the same case if you plug a BD player or an AVR, have you tried another source just to test the HDMI ports?
