Dell Inspiron One 2320 - a good jukebox?
« on: Sep 11, 2012 at 07:00 PM »
I've been using a HP netbook as my music jukebox at the office.  I've external Musica US06 DAC so conversion is not an issue but rather functionality of the netbook so I'm thinking to replace it.  I use XMBC as my frontend application.

The Dell seems nice but I'd appreciate feedback.  Also, will the touch screen functionality work with XMBC?

It should do the job just fine. XBMC may need to be reskinned for touch screen use, however.

The Inspiron One 2330 is also worth a look, as you get current components and features with this choice (Ivy Bridge, USB 3.0, etc.).

If you cannot do touchscreen with XBMC directly, you can use an Android touchscreen phone or an Ipad with the XBMC app.  ;)

The 2330 is surely better but as a music jukebox it kind of seems too overkill.  The 2320 is actually an overkill IMHO - screen is too big.

There are 20" AIO multi-touch PCs, if you're after more compact dimensions. :) They'd probably work well with Windows 8.
