Re: Is it worth the extra bucks?
« Reply #1950 on: Oct 02, 2009 at 08:36 PM »
Im thinking of replacing my Yamaha 363 with a Denon 1610. Both entry level AVRs, cheapest sa brands nila. But the 363 is just 14k and the Denon is 21k. The latter has HD hd audio pero si yammy pass thru lang. I think same lang ang power output nila, 75w.

Denon's Audyssey is a superior speaker/roomn correction feature versus Yamaha's YPAO.

Am i missing a lot kung si Yamaha ko is just video/audio passthru lang? Tama ba na upscaler na din si 1610?

Thanks a lot! ( kamot kamot  ;D )

brader,

try mo ito:

onkyo 606 110 volts http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=100754.0

onkyo 605 240 volts http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=102448.0

both are 20k. not the latest 6 series (607 ang latest) but in my opinion definitely better than the 1610 in features. also have audyssey.

Between the 1610 and the Yammy, I'd probably choose the Yammy. Not worth the price difference. D ko lang sure sa suggestion ni Iiinas on the Onkyo.

meron ba on screen TV menu ang Denon 1910?

how true it's really hard to setup the Denon 1910? most of the review esp sa cnet mahirap daw e setup.

Thanks!

it has on screen menu. hindi nga lang GUI. it's a little complicated to set up but i wouldn't say na mahirap. :)

I'm looking for AVR both good Music and Movies where audio/music audio output +30% better than movies audio. and AVR has features in converting the component analog into HD 1080p

Which is good to buy Denon 1910 vs HK 355?

may speaker are MonitorAudio B2 (surround), B4 (front), BCLR (center) and Velo CHT10

I need your advice..

Thanks & Mabuhay PinoyDVD!!!!!

HK AVR 355.

Like your speakers, mine are all the same brand and series so they should be timbre-mached already.

Then I do my own calibrations using AVIA and SPL meter.

Sweet and powerful, that is what HK is.

sir nogie now ko lang nakita yung question mo sa fan. im using ONKYO 606 and all the reviews are telling na it really gets hot but i still proceeded getting this one over YAMAHA 663 and I think DENON 1910. Whta I did is buy a small exhaust fan from DEECO for about 170 pesos. The fan does not sound loud and not annoying and with this, I can keep the ONKYO temperature in check. Di na sya umiinit. I spoke with ym friend who owns and AV shop, apparently, the 606 has a built in protection for overheating and im not sure how but he says it comes with a cooling system that gets activated when it needs to be. I did not check it though becuase the exhaust fans I bought does the trick already.

I git intereseted in your SONY because ots a higher model though hehehehehe.

Sir

The 606 has a 2 built-in fans that activate whenever the temperature inside becomes hot due to poor ventilation.  It blows the heat out of the amplifier, that's why if you'll notice, the top of the 606 is usually hotter as compared to other AVRs, it's not that they use inferior parts inside, but that's just the way they design to dissipate the heat inside of their receivers.

of those three i'd choose the onkyo for its discreet amplification and audyssey functions, 2 features not in the other two. don't rely too much on the power specs.

i noticed you had earlier similar inquiries, you might also want to review the replies especially those from our gurus & legends here at pdvd. many have already given their golden pieces of advice.

happy hunting!

The Audyssey MultEQ room correction technology. It's like magic. Read about the technology at the Audyssey website.

Sounds great. Very soon I will have to join the bandwagon. :)

Pioneer 819 or Yamaha 365?
« Reply #1973 on: Jan 04, 2010 at 12:40 PM »
Hi guys,

I know the term "better" is subjective. Pero tanong ko na lang din, alin sa dalawa Pioneer 819 and Yamaha 365) ang mas preferrable for movies (80%) and music (20%)? Price difference is not big (the Yamaha being more expensive by only PHP 1,500). As expected kasi, sabi ng mga promo guys nila, mas maganda ang kani-kaniyang brand.

i think the pioneer is better with its built in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding. the claimed power is also bigger (though this is not a good indication in itself). the yamaha is lighter by a kilo, and has spring clips for speaker terminals, indicating a  less robust construction. price- and feature-wise the pioneer wins, but the last deciding factor would be how it sounds to you. however, at the price range of these receivers, there won't be much difference in sound quality.

Thanks sir. The price difference doesn't matter to me as di naman masyadong malaki. Hindi lang kasi magandang mag audition sa SM Davao kasi maingay and they don't have a place for auditioning equipment kaya I'm asking for opinions for those who have these equipment.
