mg sirs, bago lang po ako dito....sorry din po kung mali ata napuntahn ko na topic... hingi lang ako ng opinion nyo.... meron po kasi akong harman kardon avr 255 model, rated 50 watts per channel, then my balak po ako bumili ng speakers ko, tpos nag tanung ako dito sa glorietta SA automatic center nagbebenta din sila ng HK ask ko kung kaya idrive ng ampli. gang 250 WATTS khit daw gang 350WATTS kaya dw.. taMa po ba ito, di ba masisira ampli ko...and planning to buy n rin aq ng center speaker bose VCS 10 ok lng po ba ito... tnx.. sana matulungan nyo ako... nga po pala ang minimum input power ng speaker ko sana na bibilhin eh 30 watts...

good afternoon mga master. bago lang po ako sa hifi hobby/interest. i just need your expert opinion sana. tanong ko lang kung ano pipiliin nyo without considering budget if given these choices: Onkyo TX-SR307 or HT-R560. I'm going to use it mainly for my home theater pc with my 1080p lcdtv. we only have a small condo so i think that should also be put into consideration. for starters, i already have a wharfedale wh-2 surround and center speakers. i guess i will need front and subs for this setup. your expert opinions are greatly appreciated.

I just want to ask some opinions from you guys regarding pioneer 520k and 820k. Please help me decide if the price difference between the two is worth it. The 520k is priced at P15K++, while the 820k is at P22K++. I already know the up-features of the 820k from the 520k. Gusto ko lang malaman kung sulit ung 7k na price difference based sa user-experience nyo because I'm a newbie and it will be my 1st receiver if ever. I'll pair it with wharfedale diamonds and use it 60% for movies, and the other for music ofcourse. I'm planning to buy next week sa sights and sounds or listening room. Thanks guys in advance.

is the pioneer 520 a good receiver? budget ko kasi is less than 20k. so far this seems to offer the most bang for the buck. can you suggest other receivers?
here are my requirements
- auto calibration of speakers
- hdmi input that can carry both video and audio
- 5.1 only
- i don't need dolby truehd or dts ma since 90% of my source will be bluray ripped which are only dd/dts
- good for both movie or music

This receiver supports both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA, but I don't think it has auto-calibration. It has a very simple manual calibration menu though.

Then the trueHD and DTS-MA is a big plus for future proofing.

sir can you suggest a bang for the buck receiver with auto-calibration.
i think it is an essential feature for a newbie like me.
kung matutuloy, this will be my first ever set-up. there is no point of comparison para malaman ko kung tama yung set-up or mali kaya very important for me yung feature na yan.

aside from these issues, do you think the 520 is a good receiver?
i already auditioned the unit at SM. it was partnered with a set of pioneer speakers. and i got mixed feelings. it sounded very nice. much nicer than my mini component. pero parang di sya crystal clear. ang problem, there are so many variables to consider. the receiver itself, speaker set, and the mp3 it is playing

Hi, I also have an HK AVR 255. I'm using Bose 701 Series I speakers on the fronts which is rated 200W at 6 Ohms nominal impedance. I'm also using the VCS-10 for the center and the 301 V and 301 IV for the surrounds, so far no problem.
If I listen to a music (MP3, CD or FM), I only engaged 2 channel listening on the AVR.
HK rated their AV receivers with all channels driven as compared to mostly Japanese brands. It can handle the 250W rated speakers in my opinion but you need to know that when you increase the volume of (> -20dB) you might encounter clipping. By the way, what is the nominal impedance of the speakers? 100-150W speakers should be fine...

i keep reading on the net that the vsx520 has auto calibration. o well, my heart's almost set on this unit, unless something cheaper and nicer comes along. it's got 3 hdmi inputs that carries audio signals, saving me the hassle to get optical cables and an optical dongle for my xbox 360. can't wait for january 5!

alin yung bronze bx2?wala ako idea kung magkano yun eh, bka hindi pasok sa budget.polk tsi/rti and infinity primus pa lang na try ko. so far na impress ako sa rti a3 and primus 252.parehas maganda tumunog mas mahal lang ng 3k yung primus and sagwa ng center (pc350) parang rocket launcher (my opinion lng).

FYI. vsx520 has no auto cal. you may have been mis-informed in a european review site...been checking this too from various appliance stores. better go for the 820's or higher models.

any feedback on kenwood AV receivers? specifically kenwood krfv6080d? saw this packaged with kenwood speakers as well in a shop in robinsons pioneer at sale for only 15k. original price according to the shop is around 28k

Kenwood and JVC were merged few years ago...Panasonic acquired majority of this new company but did not help in marketing & selling their products, including their AV amps/rcvrs and eventually discontinued...so the HT/rcvrs may be an old stock. I'm not sure but you have to check..warranty, HDMI, specs, after-sales support. A 15K investment is better for other known brands. But if the Kenwood specs will meet your expectations and usage then take the risk.
