Marantz is always known for musical quality receiver, while Onkyo is a performer in movies (of course when paired with a matching speaker).

If you are after musical quality then get the Marants; musical quality of Marantz compared to Onkyo is way way better; in movies Onkyo shall win by very very slim margin.
+1000 ako dito

I have this both brand Onkyo 616 & Marantz PM7003

I paired Marantz over PSB T6 FS for music while Onkyo 616 to Polk Rti series for movies at -2 treble
Samsung UA75' F8000
OnkyoTX-NR616/Onkyo RZ730
PSB T6 / Polk tsi100 a3/a4/a6

How does the Marantz SR5003 sound at present date? Still recommended despite its age?

Thanks.

Mga bro u might want to consider sherwood av receivers, its an old old us brand. Yep its back check nyo sa www.hififreqs.webs.com.  Of course, the Yamaha, Onkyo and Marantz are all very good receivers pero minsan nakaka umay narin. Just a thought! Cheers!

Guy/Brother I am new here, I just want your advice if it is ok to have a Yamaha RXV475 A/V, Super Nova 8 and Polk sub 125. Hope to receive your suggestions and comments before I will buy this items.

Thank you.

Specs wise i guess mukhang kaya naman i-drive ng yamaha at 92db. Pero ang gulo ng specs niya. Some review says it's 8 ohms. Yun iba 4 ohms. Kapag 4ohms and floorstander, baka mahirapan ang receiver. SQ wise, i really haven't auditioned Super Nova so i'm not in a good position to comment.

To be paired with PSB Image B6 + C5, for 7.1 set up -

Denon AVR X2000 or Yamaha Aventage RX A720 or Yamaha RX-V575? Or should I think of spending a bit more, for the Marantz 5008?

Add a little more and get the Aventage RX-A830 or 1030.. Maganda din yung Marantz..

Hmm. With the Marantz 5008 and the Aventage RX-A830, that'll be in the 40K and above range. Isama ko na equivalent from Harman Kardon, I think 171 yata.

Anything above 40K always gives me pause. Hahaha!

Brand new Yamaha 573 (Php18k with 1 yr warranty) or Yamaha 575 (20k) with 6 months remaining warranty or pre-Owned Pioneer 1022 (Php15k with one month warranty)?

Take the warranty issue out of the equation, still the same recommendation?

Thanks.

Though we got Onkyo's Dolby Atmos news earlier than the rest, sure enough, other electronics manufacturer are showing their support for Dolby Atmos surround by offering home theater products (mostly A/V receivers) with built-in Dolby Atmos decoding. Pioneer, Denon, Marantz and Integra have all sent out official announcements for upcoming products that will include Dolby Atmos decoding.

check niyo sir kung ilang ohms yang mga speakers ng htib speakers, coz the last time i checked the one that came with our sony lcd, it is around 16 ohms and that does not sound like a compatible load on regular AVRs.

Naka Pio SC-63 ako. Very happy camper. Very powerful amp section, very much tweakable.

Hello to all!

Meron akong Pioneer MCS-333 na HTIB, ok naman para sa akin pero bitin ako sa lakas, which is why I am planning to go to the separates route.

After having research and self-analysis, masasabi kong sapat na para sa akin ang entry-level AV Receiver, as long it can provide decent SQ and sufficient sound output. I am planning to buy an entry-level receiver, a Yamaha RX-V371.

1. I am willing to save and shed PHP 30,000, will this be enough for a receiver and a pair of decent fronts?
2. I will use my existing HTIB system , as the main media source, and will keep its speakers while not being used. Will this be viable?
3. Basically 50% movies 50% music, we watch action and adventure movies, yung tipong may gun fires and explosions, and sa music naman mostly rock, metal, may konting hip-hop at pop.
4. Based sa reviews and feedbacks na nababasa ko sa forum, si Yamaha ay hindi pihikan sa speakers (If I understood it correctly or in a different way, please correct me). May maisa-suggest pa po bang receiver within the PHP 15-16000 range, yung 14000 i la laan sa speakers at sa kung anu anu pa.

Opinions and feedbacks are much welcome. Salamat!

my first av receiver was an onkyo nr804... but after 3yrs nakarinig nako ng humming sound at -11db .. :-\ ... I immediately sent the item to an onkyo authorized service center and then they said it would cost me 15k plus for the repair of my beloved av amp, they also charged 2,500 for the diagnostic. Binenta ko right away.

Stick with the go to brands Onkyo Denon Harman and Yamaha

There are also other brands to consider, some of which are even better brands such NAD, Marantz, Anthem, Rotel, and Emotiva.

I’m thinking of getting either a cambridge audio cxa81 or a rotel rc1572. Will be using either as a preamp. Which you would recommend? Will be hooked to a B&W 606 s2. Thank you.
