Will we be allowed to field in two teams kasi tayo ang host?

The only perk for hosting is automatic seeding for the event. Since tapos na yung qualifiers sa event na 'to, pointless na yung perk na yan. Two teams will never be allowed kasi by country ang representation sa FIBA. Isang bansa lang naman ang Pilipinas.

Anyway, TNT is now up 2-0 vs ROS. Parang ang dali ng basketball for TNT so far. Kinakain ni Ranidel yung mga bantay niya which shouldn't be happening kasi ang daming malaki ng ROS. And Castro gets to the basket so easily. Ang bukas palagi ng lane.

As for ROS, parang wala sila sa Finals. Parang starstruck yung mga players. Ang lamya at walang angas. And people should really stop comparing Jeff Chan to Allan Caidic. Pareho lang silang kaliwete but beyond that, wala ng similarities. Chan is just so inconsistent. Now you see him, now you don't yung performance ni Chan. He can't knock down wide open shots, what more those with a hand on his face? If ROS doesn't win Game 3, TNT will definitely sweep them.

Hindi ko maalala kung saka sakaling na nagkaron ng iisang team na all Filipino champion ng three straight years.

Wala pa. That's why they introduced the Jun Bernardino Perpetual trophy as an added incentive. Any team who wins 3 straight Philippine Cup titles will get that trophy.

Suggestion lang for a Philippine Line Up...

1. Junmar Fajardo
2. Marc Pingris
3. Jeff Chan
4. Peter Jun Simon
5. LA Tenerio
6. Arwind Santos
7. Marc Caguiao
8. Gary David
9. Gabe Norwood
10. Ranidel De Ocampo
11. JV Casio
12. Jared Dillinger
13. Paul Lee
14. Jimmy Alapag
15. Calvin Abueva

Reserve:
1. Sonny Thoss
2. James Yap
3. Alex Cabagnot

Hopefully lahat nga sana ng PBA Teams mag give way for this very good opportunity especially the SMB Teams.

so bale wala na un Gilas 2? coz Coach Chot should be starting training with these PROs.
Most probably half of the team will be represented by players from TNT like
Alapag
Castro
Fonacier
Reyes
Williams
de Ocampo
Dillinger
Import: Marcus Douhit

Other desirable candidates should be:
Arwin Santos
Marc Pingris
Junmar Fajardo
LA Tenorio
Gabe Norwood
Sonny Thoss

Asi Taulava may also be considered to add more bulk, ceiling and experience in limited minutes.

main problem of ros is that tnt can run with them and more often tnt outruns them. unlike smc na hindi makasabay sa knila. yeng needs to adjust his gameplan otherwise its a possible sweep.

TNT is just too good for ROS. I thought ROS played well enough in this game to actually win it but TNT was just too good. Alapag's turn tonight to lead TNT. One win away from a sweep. Buti pa Alaska, pinahirapan ang TNT. Di man lang pinaporma and ROS.

TnT proving too much for ROS this Finals series ....... just too much firepower from all positions.

ROS finally showed their true identity in Game 3, but still came up short.

=======================================================================

One more good thing that will likely happen (re: RP awarded FIBA Championships hosting duties) ....... it will definitely bring great pressure for SMC to finally release their players to GILAS.  ;D

I wonder why Yeng Guiao is quiet? Arrogance and confidence snuffed out?

TnT blew ROS out of the water in games 1 & 2 ...... nothing much to shout about there.

ROS finally played good basketball in game 3, but TnT just proved to be better, again ....... I do agree with Guiao, about a few bad calls against ROS during that tight 4th quarter.

=========================================================================

I beg to differ about Yeng Guiao being arrogant ...... he is confident; but confidence in a league being manipulated (player transactions, salary caps, etc) by a huge corporation is actually a good thing.

Talking confidence to a ragtag crew and showing great results is admirable IMO.

He talks tough and heaps abuses on the floor - much like most other seasoned coaches out there ..... but the good thing about Guiao - he talks tough on all sides ...... he berates both officials and his players.

I'd take Guiao's "arrogance" over Tim Cone's endless on-the-court whining & obvious hypocrisy.

I'd take Guiao's "arrogance" over Chot Reyes' tendency to throw his players under the bus, when things don't go his way.

I'd take Guiao's "arrogance" over Ryan Gregorio's endless talking and narcissism.

Very good example of this is the current Dubai invitational where smart gilas 2 losses to Al Ahli Club of UAE, nag gagawa siya ng play sa drawing board at sa sobrang galit ay sinuntok niya ang board niya after magawa niya ang play….
Happiness is a choice....

Chot Reyes has had a long history of calling out his players, when losing games.

Just a few conferences ago, TnT suffered consecutive losses - sure enough Reyes berates Ali Peek and Jason Castro in full view of the camera and calls them out during the post-game interviews.

The old SANTA LUCIA team even instigated a mutiny of sorts to oust him during his coaching stint there.

Yeng Guiao was asked if he can make history and take the title with 4 straight wins.
His answer? "History? Di nga kami maka-isa, history pa?" LMAO. Sounds like giving up on TnT. :D

What answer was expected? If he answered "yes" they'd say he was being arrogant. He was just being Yeng. I believe he hasn't given up yet, but he is frustrated. His players have to find the will and the way to win.

Castro won the BPC. No surprise there. Abueva was a far 3rd overall, behind Ranidel. What surprised me was that he was a far 3rd in media votes as well, 482 for Castro and just 130 for Abueva.

Castro deserved the BPC. No doubt about that. And Ranidel's performance in the finals has helped boost his chances. I'm just surprised that Abueva was too far in the media votes.

Anyway, 1stQ pa lang, 18pts na lamang ng TNT. The sweep is looming.

He needs a manager/pr man who is influential/persistent in promoting him much like Nap Gutierrez was for Alvin Patrimonio and Ronnie Nathanielz was for Benjie Paras.

PBA Online: "Abueva playing as a 'hugot' in Bulacan without Aces' consent."

Gano kaya ka-totoo ito? I don't know about players contracts but you just can't do this without your team knowing it. :D
