Then Arboleda should also be banned from the PBA. He punched and kicked an obviously much smaller, defenseless fan also on national tv, but the guy is still playing, right? Balkman deserved to be sanctioned, everybody knows that..... but the PBA must show consistency on their decisions.

Thats Chito Salud for you.....

Kapwa Pinoy si Arboleda so a heavy fine and long suspension is already enough punishment for him for punching a fan.
Salud made the correct decision of banning Blakman from playing in the PBA.
Blakman is a foreigner and his actions should not be taken lightly.
Of course his regrets and apologies should be accepted but let this incident be a lesson for him such that he will always remember and not repeat the same actions should he be given another chance to play in other countries.
Gee yoU aRe yoU!

Very good game for Ginebra beating mighty TnT...
M.C. playing like an import with 28pts.
Alapag is really a streak shooter, cant leave him open...

Good overall game for both teams...

TnT's outside shots were not going in. Alapag was the only one making outside shots. Missed free throws by Ginebra made it a closer game.

matangkad si ellis, 6-5, pero malakas yung leaping ability niya from a standing position. imho si paul alvarez, 6-0, ang pinakagrabe pa rin pagdating sa leaping ability.

i was about to say this. mente is below 6ft, iirc.

two in a row for the gin kings. ganda ng chemistry nina LA at Macklin. and Caguioa is playing exceptionally well.

around 5 ft 9 inches only.

walang value ang dribble kay macklin at la eh parang palaging alleyoop parang heat seeking missile yung bola, hinahanap ng kusa yung kamay ni macklin pag galing kay la

almost always, ganyan ang play nilang dalawa. macklin had an awesome dunk in that game. hinatak na pababa, but still managed to slam the ball.

Boybits Victoria and Jimmy Alapag could dunk the ball as well... Alapag is around 5'8"
But they're not vertical leapers I think...

yes, but they do not jump as high as joey mente does. they were never slam dunk champs in the pba.

Joey Mente may have had the all-time highest vertical leap but Paul Alvarez was not called Mr. Excitement for nothing. His first, second and third leaps were almost the same, even after his prime, differing only by a few inches. Ellis seems to have the same capability. kangkarot!

It was definitely exciting to watch Ginebra play the way they did against TnT. I just hope it continues.

PG & SG's are rarely in a scenario for vertical dunks.

But for the few that does this from time to time ..... I can recall, Paul Alvarez and Jojo Lastimosa (mostly done during Mama's Love stint).

I'm sure that a few other guards can do this as well, like Joey Mente.

But perhaps the ex-pro who IMO had the highest vertical leap ever - Mike Garcia from the old Laguna Lakers team of the MBA ..... he never was a good overall player, but the hops Garcia showed was incredible.

========================================================================

I've seen a few other great vertical leapers from the old amateur leagues (PABL, PBL, etc) ....... not surprisingly, most of these players had backgrounds in collegiate volleyball.

I thought we were just talking about vertical leap that's why I mentioned Joey Mente, in fact as sir newave said, Michael Garcia perhaps has the highest ever

Global Port is on a 6 game losing streak and their new import has narcolepsy. Problems just won't stop for them. I think they should fire Baculi. They have too much talent for this to happen.

Actually, puffalan84 referred to Ellis' "grabeng" leaping ability. So whether they had the highest vertical leap or not, these players mentioned, all had "grabeng" leaping abilities! ;D And when these high-leapers play, specially the smaller ones, the more exciting it is to watch games.

Had never been a big fan of Caguioa ...... he had never been one who feels his teammates out during offense - takes more than his share of bad shots e.g. early shots, surprise jumpers, long jumpers, etc ...... even diehard BGK fans acknowledge this flaw.

However, the guy always plays his heart out & plays relatively clean ...... he has even toned down his no-conscience, volume shooting the past few conferences ...... may have actually improved his FG%.

========================================================================

Like I said, BGK vets will probably see a revival of sorts with Chualay ...... Chua is a players coach and will let his players freelance and run.

However, BGK is still unlikely to get by the other elite teams when it comes to the playoffs ..... teams like TnT, SMC, RoS & PET are just way too loaded (not to mention the elite coaching found in TnT, SMC & RoS).

It would be fun watching the games though.

three in a row!

BGSM blew a 21 point lead and almost lost the game. and it looks like Caguioa suffered an injury which, according to initial reports, is a sprained knee. although they fear that it could be and MCL injury. i hope not.

anyway, it was strange that when meralco was resorting to a hack-a-mack during the 4th quarter, chua did not opt to take macklin out. macklin's free throw percentage was very terrible (5 out of 16, iirc).
