Q4 2min left ...... BGK on a run of sorts, but ALASKA still up by 13.

The amount of bumps & knocks that Abueva takes is just mind-boggling ......and he just smiles and smirks quietly .....like I said, when this guy flops, there's at least considerable contact.

and to think na some people brand him as ugaling iskwater or larong iskwater, seems like everyone wants to give cheap shots at abueva, yung kay tenorio simpleng banat, sana lang eh mag ingat din si abueva sayang ang galing nya kung matsambahan ng matinding injury.

it was a a combination of bad things for Ginebra. shots not falling in, whether from the outside and, worse, even from the inside....they took too many outside shots, even if they were not falling in. On the other hand, Alaska had a head start. They were making shots from everywhere and seems to have been doing everything right......the biggest part, however, was Alaska's defense. Ginebra took too many shots from the outside because they had not other option. they could hardly penetrate the lanes. It was a very great game by Alaska.

was able to see the 3rd and 4th qtr, seems like Macklin is struggling as oppose to Dozier who seems to be at ease, no fancy, moves no playing with the crowds simpleng basketball lang. Best of five lang pala so laking edge ng manalo sa game 1.

perhaps he earned the "ugaling iskwater" tag due to his lack of finesse. sobra kasi ang angas nya eh. considering that he is just a rookie. kung baga eh bagong salta pa lang sya, akala mo beterano na kung umasta. but honestly, nakakaawa din sya kasi nga he gets hit a lot. but everytime he gets hit, ngingisi pa na parang nang-iinis. one more reason siguro kung bakit lalong nanggigigil ung mga tumitira sa kanya. "ah....wala lang pala ha...mamaya ulit!". somehow, i knew he'll get it from Mamaril.

which arm did you look at? ung lower arm ni mamaril ung may motion, ung blocking hand, wala. ung kay tenorio, oo nga, mas matindi, pero simple bira lang. parang hindi sinasadya...parang nagka-banggaan lang sila.

si samboy naman kasi, mabait. walang angas, walang yabang. hindi sya dumidila pag nakaka-shoot. wala syang slit of the throat gesture after making a shot over his defender...or flexing his muscles. between a beast and a lamb, talagang mas titirahin ang isang beast.

There's no room for error for Ginebra when playing against Alaska. Alaska is too composed and disciplined as a team. They know what to do and how to do it. They're very committed. Yun yung difference kanina eh. Alaska was committed to do the right things and make the right decisions.

I enjoy watching their defense more than their offense. They always talk to each other and they have each other's back. Dozier just hangs around in the middle waiting to help on Macklin or a penetration. On an undisciplined team, Dozier's guy would always be left open. But with Alaska, someone always has an eye on Dozier's guy. You could see Hontiveros, Abueva or Dela Cruz staying in between their guys and Dozier's, ready to rotate. They're very committed to switching on defense. Pag may naiwan sa mga down screens and back pick, switch kaagad. It doesn't matter kung magkaroon ng mismatch. Dapat may bantay talaga lahat.

Ginebra needs dump the ball to Macklin in Game 2. Raymundo or any other power forward of Ginebra shouldn't crowd Macklin at the post. Macklin just took 9 shots tonight and most of them are from putbacks. Sariling sikap and almost none from set plays. Sure he was defended well but Ginebra never really made an effort to give him the ball. And Raymundo has to stop taking Dozier one on one at the post. There's just no way he'll beat Dozier there. He should draw him out to the perimeter and away from Macklin.

Tenorio needs to keep an eye on his defense as well. He took Casio for granted earlier. Iniiwan lang na open. He should watch how Barroca defended Casio in the semis. At the start of the game, Casio scored the first 5 points easily. On Alaska's 8 straight points to open the 3rd, Casio assisted on all of them. For me, Casio is the most important player for Alaska. It all starts with him.

And Chua has to relax. Ang bilis niya nagpanic kanina. Parang walang tiwala sa players niya. Pag nagkamali, labas agad.

And lastly, it's nice having a real analyst covering the game. Someone who's really watching the game and not just the stats or the highlight plays.

ALASKA's already excellent defense went up a few notches during Game 1 ...... the close-outs & rotating was fast ....... Macklin was doubled-well, since he doesn't know how to go to his left.

On the offensive side, everything just clicked for them as well ...... when its a 4-1 fastbreak situation and your PG (Jazul) pulls-up and makes a bankshot 3-pointer - you know things are going your way.

The good thing for BGK, they have nowhere to go up ...... can't play any worse than last night.

Macklin needs to get the ball at the right spot & outside hits are welcome.

Damm that MVP for non-inclusion of the player intros ...... TV5 is shoving all those TnT & sabunggero commercials down our throats. 

Benjie Paras must never be given work as live commentator again ....... he's acceptable as a pre-game comic relief, but just annoying as a commentator.

Similar to Jolly Escobar, he sounds like he's high on weed.  ...... he doesn't give analysis and just agrees with the lead guy. It's as if he's just waiting to get his punchlines in.

ginebra "must" win tonight. otherwise, they'll have to kiss the championship trophy goodbye. i don't think they can win three straight games against alaska considering the way the aces are playing both on the offensive and, especially, the defensive side.
