I really don't get why up to now, marami pa ring player ang nagpapaapekto sa laro ni Abueva. It's pretty obvious by now that that's his game. He thrives in a physical game. Ginebra should just stick to their game plan. Pumanget takbo ng laro nila nung tinira ni Baracael si Abueva eh. Yung mga tama sa mga player ng Ginebra, incidental contact lang at part of the game. Yung mga tira ng mga taga-Ginebra sa mga player ng Alaska, sadya na eh. Si Abueva sinapak ni Baracael at binatukan ni Macklin, tumawa lang. Si Urbiztondo, nabangga ng hindi sinasadya, minura si Thoss. Ginebra should focus on the game. Pag bumagsak, tayo agad. Pabor na nga sa kanila mga tawag, ang dami pang reklamo.

And speaking of calls, grabe naman kagarapal yung mga referee. Hayaan niyo naman mga player ng Ginebra ang maghabol sa lamang.

Anyway, this series is once again proof of how good this Alaska team was built. A great mix of young guys and veterans. The energy of young guys like Abueva and Jazul, the smarts and composure of Casio, the experience and poise of veterans Baguio, Thoss, Hontiveros and Espinas plus the all-around play of Dozier. Every player na ipasok ni Trillo makes an impact in one way or another. Even Belasco made a big 3 kanina.

It ain't over until Alaska gets that 3rd win. Ginebra knows that and there's nothing scarier than a Ginebra team on a do or die game. Alaska need to wrap it up on Sunday.

do you guys think ginebra will pull off a surprise import replacement for game 3?

MC47 should really opt out of playing this finals, mismatch agad siya on the defensive end kasi hirap pa kumilos eh.

One more thing, parang bitter si MVP. Dahil wala TNT sa finals, walang kwenta na yung coverage. Nung Game 1, di man lang pinalabas yung player intros. Wala ring post-game interviews. Last conference, meron naman.

what a masterful job by alaska.

even if ginebra wins game 3, i doubt if they can still snatch the title from alaska. ginebra was outplayed, no doubt about it. and the fact that macklin is ineffective is not doing them any help. however, and not to sound bitter or anything --- i think macklin is physically bothered. is it his knees? he is not as mobile as he was before the finals. no movement, no jump. i am not taking away alaska's defensive strategy on him, though. i just noticed his movement, or the lack thereof, in game 2. i was not able to hear the commentators. i'm sure they would have a discussion on that. it was a bit noisy in the background. good thing! i saw that quinito was part of the anchors. :P

Si Espinas din pala naka score nun, in that case noong nag flex sya ng muscle nya, para sa katabi nya pala na naka pula din 'yung gesture na yun?

start ng 4th lamang pa yata BGK kay nilipat ko na pag balik ko tambak na ulit, ano ba ginagawa ng coach ng BGK at bakit hinahayaang manakit ang player niya ng iisang player lang naman ng kabila ayan tuloy nasira ang diskarte ng buong team.

Watched the game.  That Casio 4 point play was the back breaker for Ginebra.  Kudos to the Beast and Sonny Thoss.

Tinanong nun commentator doon sa kasama nyang commentator, what happened daw to Ginebra in the 4th qrt, kasi lumaki na lamang ng Alaska, eh at the end of 3rd qrt lamang pa daw ng 1 pt BGK, ang sabi ni Jason Webb ata yun "it's a combination of a lot of things daw, blah, blah, blah, pero actually isa lang ang sagot dun "Urbiztondo". Walang sure ball, tapos nagkalat pa, dami ginawa kapalpakan. Sana binabad na lang si Tenorio, hindi na kailangan magpahinga do or die na yun eh.

No match talaga 'yun laban, sa tingin ko kahit TNT ang pumasok instead of BKG, ganoon din mangyayare, they will suffer the same fate as Ginebra, puro injured din kasi players nila.

Saludo ako kay coach Luigi. Eventhough I wasnt able to watch any game of the Championship series, basing it with the final score alone, I can say na they totally dominated the series. Great job of Alaska preparing for the series. Hats off!!! Well organized ball club :)

Btw, Im a Ginebra fan... And still am ^-^

congrats, Alaska! no bitterness here. with the way they prepared and played, they really deserved it. it does not matter if macklin and caguioa were injured and not 100%. adjustments could have been made, but chua did not. instead, he still relied heavily on them. and his gamble did not pay off.

regarding urbiztondo, he really sucks! but knowing loverboy eala, i'm sure josh will not be staying long with ginebra. it was a very lop-sided deal and yet eala took it. i'm thinking urbiztondo is just a pawn and will be used as bait soon.

i was passing by EDSA this afternoon and saw a one-liner being displayed on the MMDA screen --- "babalik ang barangay". it made no sense to me at first. but then, in the next MMDA screen, there was a picture of chua with a message --- "salamat sa laban. babalik tayo sa 3rd conference". my question is --- why did it appear on MMDA's highway screen?

On to the 3rd conference ....... I just heard that the PBA recently enacted a new rule, wherein mother teams no longer have exclusive rights to their imports.

This means that resident imports of some teams can sign-up with a rival team, even without a formal release from his mother team - exceptions with sister-teams though. 

It's funny, but this new rule somewhat legalizes the "under-the-table" deals which certain teams (read: SMC) offer to known high-prized imports.

Take DJ Mbenga for example ....... he's a legit NBA player and he flat-out refused ALASKA's max contract offer, only to sign-up with BARAKO BULL (SMCorp lapdog) a few weeks later. WTF?  ;D

ALASKA team owner W. Uytengsu asked the question a few years ago "What's the difference with our P350,000 (referring to then max allowable contract) with SMCorps P350,000?"


What reason would there be for a guy like Mbenga to refuse a max import contract, only to sign-up with another team instead ?  ;)

There are reports that Loverboy Eala is targeting ROS import Arizona Reid as their 3rd conference import ...... Reid is a damm fine import and will likely be ROS' target import due to Cornley's recent legal woes.

The question is, which will Reid choose - ROS' money or SMC's money ....... should just be the same, right?  ;)

SMCorp has complete control of the PBA board, owing to its 6 teams ...... yup, they have six teams: PETRON, BGK, SMC, BARAKO, AIR21 & GPORT.

Any changes in the rules require a majority vote from the board (2/3 afaik) ...... hence we see rules favoring SMC the past few years e.g. Increase of max salary from 350 to 420k, rejection of PHOENIX PETROLEUM's application, relaxing of import hiring rules, etc.

SMCorp also has Comm. Cheato Salud in its pocket ...... In fairness to Salud, he is trying his best to look fair e.g. revising proposed lopsided trades which still turn out lopsided in the end ...... in many ways, he's just there to regulate the greed.  ;)
