actually, kahit hindi magandaang performance sa ibang team, kunikuha pa din. josh urbiztondo is the best example of that.

Somewhat on the flipside naman bro .....

There has been many instances wherein benched SMCorp. players (aging, injured, dog-housed, slump, etc) choose to remain benched or in the reserved list - even if other teams are offering them spots and the playing time that goes with it.

Dorian Pena, Danny Seigle, Cris Calaguio, Lordy Tugade, Homer Se, Junthy Valenzuela, Johnny Abbarientos, etc ...... all were in the dog-house of SMCorp teams at one time or another.

Other rival teams sought to get their services via trade offers or straight-up offer-sheets - yet these players chose to remain in the SMCorp bench ...... makes you wonder why ??  ;)

Johnny Abbarientos was removed a spot as a BGK player and assigned as an assistant-coach instead; yet he still wanted to play to close out his career and redeem some lost pride (drugs and sabonggero allegations) ........ ALASKA's Tim Cone offered him a spot on his line-up ..... a few days later, Cone's offer was formally rejected by Abbarientos who never did play again.  ;)

=================================================================================

Reserved-list players are unprotected, thus can be taken (without compensation) by other teams that makes an offer ...... this rule has been recently used by some teams, as a new way to bypass (read: cheat) player trading.

Some recent players who got "sold" este transferred to other teams via this route were Josh Urbiztondo and Renren Ritualo.

Then ALASKA coach Tim Cone howled in protest when Urbiztondo was transferred (for nothing) by AIR21 to BMEG via this deceitful route ....... a few conferences later, Tim Cone is SMC/BMEG coach and he trades Urbiztondo back to AIR21/BARAKO for a 2013 1st round draft pick !

Mukhang done deal na 'to, Japeth Aguilar to BGK

http://www.spin.ph/sports/basketball/news/pba-trade-japeth-aguilar-yousif-taha-basketball-ginebra-globalport

It's probably only a matter of time, but Japeth will be moved to an SMCorp team eventually ....... Mikee Romero has way too much love for his padrinos RSA & MVP.

It's the same old story as many past lopsided trades (e.g. Lassiter, Devance, Santos, etc) ...... lopsided trade proposal between SMCorp and any of its pseudo-sister teams ....... PBA office to deem it unfair & will demand SMC to sweeten the deal ....... SMC sends a pick and/or a scrub, then voila, deal is approved even though the deal is still lopsided and defies all sense of fair play, parity and salary rules.

Japeth will make for a few hilites every now and then ...... but that's about it. One game he'll score well then majority of the conference he'll disappear altogether.

Be careful what you wish for Loverboy Eala.  ;)

Ito yung done deal na. Dillinger and Allado to Meralco, Sean Anthony to TNT, Buenafe and Gilbert Bulawan to Barako.

http://www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/pba-approves-trade-dillinger-allado-to-meralco-buenafe-to-barako-bull-anthony-to-talk-n-text

MERALCO - Good trade as a healthy Dillinger is way more versatile than Buenafe will ever be.
TnT - 50/50 trade ...... Anthony will bring the hustle, but he is offensively inept. He is no finisher.
BARAKO - Another successful tran$$action for this sh*t franchise and owner Bert "Pimp Daddy" Lina.  ;)

Yup, even at his advanced age, Asi is still very much serviceable ...... BGK does look like a good fit for Asi, for many reasons.

Loverboy Eala knows little about basketball; aside from broadcasting games.

Sadly, connections and the gift-of-gab gets you places here in Da Pilipins ...... Noli Eala (and Charles Tiu, Ryan Gregorio, etc) is clear proof of that.

Besides talking, the only things that Eala excels in are chasing after skirts and spending someone else's money ..... which got him in big trouble with the MVP camp, hence his transfer to RSA/SMC.

It's a very simple formula that Eala uses for his 3 SMCorp teams ....... BUY the best players (via his 3 farm teams BARAKO, AIR21 & GPORT) regardless of position and expect the coaches to win championships galore for him.  ;)

yeah right!
There was this game when a player (it was probably Paul Alvarez, can't remember anymore) showed his hang-time prowess. They replayed the video in slow-mo and Eala started heaping praises on the player's ability to stay in the air for a long time. He shouted, "Bilangin mo sa ere!" And he actually started counting how long the player stayed in the air while they were showing the slow-mo video. duh!

it was actually leon trimmingham, a ginebra import in the 90s, who was known for his extremely high vertical leap. the hang timd count was 8 seconds...IN SLOWMO! at sinundan pa nya ng comment na - grabe talaga itong si trimmingham! ang tagal sa ere!

Sana naman magfit si Japeth. Kelangan din talaga ng Ginebra ng bigman. Problema lang sa kanya ayaw nya ng larong bigman.

I doubt this. Japeth has delusions of grandeur. Akala nya ang galing nya.

masama epekto ng nba d-league sa kanya. natanim sa isip nya na super player sya. chua should be able to control him. otherwise, japeth's acquisition would do more harm than good for ginebra. para syang si bosh...big man na puro sa labas lang at takot makipag-banggaan sa loob.

on another note, now that the ABL is over, talks about Asi's transfer to ginebra are circulating again. who will they trade for him? mamaril and urbiztondo lang ang dapat nila bitawan.

in the first place, hindi naman na dapat kinuha yan eh. sayang si jensen. he could have been a vital cog in the line-up. OR a good trade bait for asi.

Sana nga, kung sakali makuha si Asi ng BGK, they will have their own version of "Twin Towers".

just like when they had Aquino and EJ Feihl.

sino nag champion sa ABL?

San Miguel swept Indonesia, 3-0. Indonesia's coach Todd Purves is set to become an active consultant for Petron as Abanilla takes over the coaching duties from Racela. That's interesting because in Game 2 of the ABL Finals, Indonesia lost because of a stupid move by Purves. Lamang 1pt ang Indo with 6secs left, SMB ball but no more timeouts left for SMB. Purves calls a timeout for Indonesia giving SMB a chance to set up a final play. Nakaw play ginawa ng SMB at ayun panalo. Purves practically gave that game away to SMB. If he's really going to join the Petron coaching staff, it makes you wonder if he called that timeout on purpose.

ang yabang naman ni gregorio. after sabihin ni asi na gusto nya sa ginebra, he came up with a statement na ok lang na umalis si asi dahil sanay na sila na wala si asi sa team nila and "asi is not a factor for us right now". para namang ang galing nyang coach!

Kaya lang he'll have to develop some offensive skills to get more playing time in any team
