Robert Non Sir

Thanks for the info.
I hope he wont be another Eala shuffling coaches and players swiftly but organize a solid group of players and coaches that will be given time to bond with one another.

Wala ring pagbabago yan. For me, Non is worse when it comes to managing a team. He's not trigger happy like Eala but walang saysay yung mga moves niya dati before Eala came in.

He was in charge of basketball operations when then San Miguel traded Tenorio and Fonacier to Alaska for Cortez and Bono. Both Tenorio and Fonacier went on to lead their teams to championships. Cortez bounced around the league and Bono just disappeared from the league. Sure, Siot Tanquincen was the one who demanded to trade Tenorio but Non had the authority to say no. He didn't.

He was also in charge when SMC started hoarding/buying players (from then Red Bull).

^ Exactly ...... The casual fan may not know it, but Robert Non has long been the instigator of those past dubious trades for players and/or draft picks (ex. Arwind Santos for Ken Bono trade).

He's as "evil" as Eala ...... The only thing that Eala has over Non, was the gift of gab and a deep hatred for the MVP camp.

Eala is known for his flowery words - something which got him disbarred from practicing Law. I'm not kidding.  ;)

The PBA has yet to start but Abueva has been in 2 tune-up game altercations already. First with Devance and just today against Danny Seigle. Lalo yatang yumabang at dumumi yung laro ni Abueva. He should tone it down at baka matapos ng maaga career niya.

And Seigle tweeted this referring to Abueva:

Hehe, like I said Robert Non is as "evil" as the ousted Noli Eala ....... yet another one of the endless lopsided WTF trades between SMC and it's (secret) sister teams.

http://www.spin.ph/sports/basketball/news/petron-acquires-kramer-from-barako-bull-in-the-first-step-of-explosive-deal

A prime Doug Kramer traded for the corpse of Dorian Pena and a useless 2nd round pick.

Why in the hell would BARAKO make such a trade ? ...... considering that a.) Kramer is prime .... b.) Pena is old ....... c:) Pena was already in their lineup just a few conferences ago.

Everyone knows the answer of course ....... everyone except Comm. Cheato Salud.  ;)

Yup, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if El Granada ends up with an SMC team ...... after all, Mikee Romero is a known lackey of Ramon Ang (Japeth Aguilar to BGK anyone?) - just like Bert Lina & George Chua.

The culture of "win-at-all-costs" of course has always been the mantra of Danding Cojuangco, be it in business or in sports ...... do everything in order to win - steal, cheat, intimidate, bribe, etc.

ROS has got SMC's numbers for a few seasons now ..... ROS' collection of unheralded stars against SMC's loaded lineup (courtesy of BARAKO BULL/AIR21 of course).

Typical James Yap game ...... volume-shooting & very low FG%.

It's been this way for many years now, yet he's still considered to be the face of the PBA ..... tells you some thing about the fan demographic that has increased through the years e.g. females, etc.

perhaps, most fans now fail to see the flaws of james yap. what they see (or what they choose to see) are the shots he makes, and when and how he makes them. his long shots touching the bottom of the net --- that's what registers on their mind. percentage? they don't care about it. same with gary david.

Fans are the lifeblood of any league. In he PBA's case, the female demographic became the more prominent one the past 2 decades (thanks in part to that '98 PUREFOODS team).

No offense to our lady viewers, but only a small fraction of female fans know the intricancies of the game and actually play the game. Yup, they won't usually care about things like FG%.

Let's face it (pun intended), face-value is a driving factor for many of our lady viewers ...... the good-looking star players are placed on a high-pedestal regardless of performance e.g. James Yap

One more "shining" example is JC Intal ...... except for a single good quarterfinals series, he has played like CRAP for most of his PBA career. Yet when the PBA sends a team for all-star events, celebrity games, etc you can bet your house that Intal will be there.  ;)

which reminded me, Intal can very well be a Chris Webber of the PBA

Sinong maysabing di na si Eala nagpapatakbo ng SMC Basketball operations? Garapalan na naman 'to! Maliksi for Gonzales and Pacana?! Dahil ba mas marami binigay niyo eh pwede na?

Hehehe. Maliksi for a 2-minute playing Gonzales & a career-scrub Pacana ..... that's totally FAIR ...... according to Danding Cojuangco.

Loverboy Eala = Robert Non = Garapal

Comm. Cheato Salud = SMCorp.

oo nga, masyado nga lopsided yung Maliksi-Gonzales/Pacana trade    :P

If Maliksi is already healthy then it is but if Maliksi has not yet fully recovered then the lopsidedness is still prospective. But, then again, why trade for a player if you know he has not yet recovered or may not fully recover.

Seriously, even if Maliksi plays just 10% of an entire season ....... I'm EXTREMELY sure that he'd have contributed much more than both Wesgon & Paloma este Pacana.

Wesgon is only good for churning out funny tweets, while Pacana is known for having big ears and his HOT girlfriend.  ;D

Back when he was ALASKA coach, Tim Cone used to publicly blast & criticize such lopsided trades ....... well, since transferring to SMC, his team has made MANY über-lopsided trades.

No response from Tim Cone, so far.   ;)
