yes with hdmi... and i will use usb dac for audio analog and hooking it onkyo 809 thanks

mga guro ang problema ayaw madetect ng 809 via hdmi ang dolby at dts sound pero ok naman vdeo nya thanks

Try to update your player with the latest codecs. Or better yet try another media player like Splash Pro or MPC-HC assuming that you have already configured the audio settings in the control panel to output DD/DTS via HDMI.

^+1 WMP is limited in terms of codecs especially downloaded files. I encountered the same problem before when I tried using my netbook as media player. But once you get it right, it becomes a very versatile player especially if it comes with a remote.

Try to use XMBC sir... Then set the audio settings to HDMI. I'm using my HD 4850 (DVI-HDMI adapter). It can decode DTS and Dolby formats.

hindi ba redundant na kung gagamit ka pa ng USB DAC kung 809 AVR naman ang gamit? just saying kasi may built-in DAC na yung 809 when using digital inputs (optical, hdmi & coaxial). eto yung DAC niya TI Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-Bit DACs (PCM1690) for All Channels

Actually halos lahat naman nang source may DAC...DVD, CD, NMT, Laptop and mga AVR's. Yung quality kasi will depend on how good the DAC is, specially in Music... Like in my Case, yung yamaha ko meron ding DAC na capable of 24/192 but i still use an external DAC for music applilcation, simply because in my Ears mas gumada sa 2 channel music when using an external DAC vs using the DAC of the AVR...

that burr brown PCM1690 is, IMO, already a top notch chip. so unless you're going to use a really high end dedicated external DAC i'd say just use the AVR as it is. but if i were to feed it to an analog stereo amp, then that would be a different story

but ofcourse kung saan ka mas enjoy yun naman ang importante. right now kasi, mas praktikal na lang ako sa buhay

The DAC chip is only a small fraction of the equation when selecting a DAC. The same chip in different DAC implementations will perform very differently.

Though I do agree na check muna if the onboard one is good enough for the person's needs. Tutal libre na yun eh. If ever bibili ng iba, subukan muna if it'd make an improvement sa target system.

ok bumili na ako Dac sa what HiFi ... Musiland.... Ok ang Match sa system lumabas ang mids at high at naging claro ang vocals... Thanks a lot.

I'm thinking if I can go this way as I plan my projector setup.

Look for the Acer Projector thread. Most of them used HTPC for 3D viewing.

Mga sir. Question lang po since I plan to buy a new entry level lang na home theater setup. Tanong ko lang po eh kung kakayanin ba ng laptop ko na maging HTPC set? Gamit ko eh installed CCCP codec with the mediaplayer na kasam niya. HDMI gamit ko sa laptop. Asus L43SJ laptop.

Just need to know kung yung audio ng mga movies ko will pass through and be recognized by the a/v reciever? Sayang naman tong mga 1080p movies ko kung eh lalabas lang eh puro stereo lang.
