System set up
« on: Oct 16, 2012 at 08:14 PM »
Big brothers of Pinoydvd,

Help lang po. Need your inputs and suggestions about my plan to build a system that can be use in 50% music, 50% movies.

Bed room size is 18x10x8 feet (length x width x height)
Display: plasma TV
Video source: media player
Sound source: Itouch and Creative mp3 player
Music: Mix (rock, alternative, jazz, RnB, etc..)

Are bookshelf speakers enough for the room size? Should I add fronts and sub?
I'm also thinking about their floor stander counterpart for future proof (baka maitransfer ko sila sa sala after 1 year)

Thank you in advance! :)

For the budget sir, Im looking within the price range of Polk Audio Rti a3 and B&W 685 BS.
For FS, witihin the range of Polk Audio a9 and its counterpart in B&W (683 or cm7,cm8?)

Looks like your fixated na sa models you mentioned.  :D

BS is fine for me. So long as ma-complete yun front, center and sub.

Anong preference mo sa amplification? Integrated stereo or receiver?

Sir, hindi pa po ako fixated sa mga nabangit na speakers, wala pa akong naririnig sa kanilang lahat :)
Kung may iba pa ho kayong maissugest na speakers within the price range, please do po para maka pag compare pa ng iba. Im just basing the speakers thru online and pinoydvd experience and feedback.

Newbie po ako sa speaker set up, hindi po ako sure kung ano ibig niyong sabihin about preference sa amplification..

Thanks for replying sir :)

I'm sure bookshelves can fill your room given the proper amplification. The advantage floorstanders have would be it's prominent low end. San po kayo malapit banda? We have a lot of great accommodating stores out there that will let you audition to your heart's content.
