my TVIX is approaching 5 years, bought in Nov. 2008 ... no more firmware updates, but no issues playing new mkv files ... possible that the new standards are backwards compatible

Measy Player (bought 3+ years ago) with my brother.  Still running.  I think it helps na maluwag yung design.

Xtreamer Pro (3 years old)
- Power Supply broke as well.  used a old PC's PowerSupply instead since the Xtreamer Pro needs a +5V, +12V and GND.  (same ng molex)
- Then both internal SATA are malfunctioning... the movie suddenly stops after 10mins of playing.
- I had to use the USB to play movies instead.

Still working though, but i'm a bit disappointed sa Xtreamer.

My PCH A110 is still alive! 4 years na rin siguro to.

mine is xtreamer gen1 from my sis, she bought it around 2011 and up to now it is still working very fine, even mkv true-hd is playable.

One problem I encountered was it only plays 1TB of my 3TB ext HDD, so what i usually do is copy all first from my 1TB ext HDD then after watching it I transfer to my 3TB.

Rght now, im still looking for a reliable, long life, high capacity HDD capable NMT. any suggestions, guys?

I am not sure sir pero sigurado yung latest lang..kasi matagal na walang fw update ang gen1..I know there is a procedure for hard reset baka pwede mo din try..

My 4 year old wdtv live hub still works perfectly fine. What I like about it is the continuous firmware support the company has on it. It has resolved problems with files I am unable to watch before.

The Measy A1HD that I got almost 3 years ago also works very well, what conked out on me was my Xtreamer Elvira that lasted for a year.

My first media player was the Asus O! Play Mini. I sold it and upgraded to WDTV Live and it's been 3 years already and going strong. With these brands, I'm sure you'll toss them out before they even die.

My first media player is near Med8er 500X, bought last 2009 and still working. Though nagloko yun USB port last 2011, its within warranty period so inayos naman ni EHome. Still working perfectly.

my ac ryan essentials hd doesnt have signal thru hdmi after 2.5years.

my other multimedia player asus oplay mini's usb port doesnt recognize/read any device after 2years, but the SD card slot works fine! haha..i just hate the hassle of copying files to sd to watch

can this problem still be fixed?

Indeterminate.

I haven't had a busted HDD pero sa takot kong mawala yung important files, I have redundant storage for those.

All my players are PCH-A200/A210. My media player feels robust enough kaya I don't know when I'd regularly use the spare.

Oh yung dati kong Mede8er, umabot ng 3 years and 3 months, then biglang ayaw nalang mag-on when I gave it to my brother-in-law. I don't know kung device or user problem....hehehe

1 x Egreat M31b from first batch PDVD group buy - still working, but not being used lately
1 x PCH A210 - still working, my workhorse at my HT room, local disk playback and as Plex Client! Full BR file image navi/playback capable
1 x Mac Mini (late 2009) - still working as bedroom media player, home Plex Server
1 x RasPi - still working with RasPlex, not being used frequently

Lucky me, all players in the lot are working as expected, even HDD's > 5 years are still a-ok.

Remotes are still ok, except for some stickiness on the backside rubberized coating.  Have a Logitech Harmony handy (also as backup) but for some reason the remotes that come with the players are still more intuitive to use.

My WD gen 1 just conked out. After playing 1 file (even just for a few minutes), it refuses to play another.

what you need to do is restore factory settings when this happen..and do not play that file anymore..this works for me all the time

Same here mine is Med8ter naman. San pwede ipa check or repair shop ng NMT?

My 4 year old brite-View Cinematube is still working ok... but that's just the unit itself. Unfortunately the remote control just gave out and you can't do anything without it, so the box is now pretty useless.

I bought my Measy E8HDL back in december 2011. It has served me well but as of today is shutting down on its own. Can i still get this fixed or do i just get a new one?

Check the fan and declog for dirt, replace if heat related but isolate mo :

Test long playback with a fan with   the enclosure off  to isolate if it's heat related, and if yes Reapply thermal paste.
