Downton Abbey
« on: Oct 30, 2012 at 12:47 PM »
Got the bluray (Seasons 1 and 2) from Sir Philip out of curiosity and now continuing with Season 3. Its a British soap which may me look like an old spinster when watching this but hey its still a good show. Hated Lady Sybil for falling in love with the Irish radical chauffeur and now she's dead after giving birth to their daughter but loved it when Matthew and Lady Mary did get married. Tissue please... for the eyes and not for that.

I know I've watched that but can't recall the details. Na-archived na kasi. Was that when Matthew met his untimely demise?

Yup. I thought it was a really bad filler episode where nothing was happening, until that point.

It's hard sometimes when central characters decide to leave series. It's not like Doctor Who where it's easy to deal with, or in US soaps where they just recast the role.

That was a bummer just when you think it's always a fairy tale but ending up like a deja vu of Game of Thrones. Still I look forward to next season.

The series finale aired this week. But there's still a final Christmas Special come December 25th.

Dayum, that Mary is a biyatch.

With so much bad news in September, my wife and I finally took it upon ourselves to watch this series.  Just completed 6 seasons today and I must say this was much better than I expected.

I had been initially displeased at myself since it seemed so easy for the wife to coerce me into watching the first episode (I had thought this was another Bronte-type period soap drama).  I'm now looking forward to when the 2019 film drops on to Netflix.

I resisted watching this but when it came to netflix, and we were still on lockdown, i relented and i must say i enjoyed this english telenovela. I said i would stop after matthew died but i kept going to see lady mary get her happy ending. But i admit i fast-forwarded the events after anna was arrested. It was just too preposterous that scotland yard would devote so much manpower for the death of a butler?
