I completely agree. Even driven by a vintage amp na mura lang the sound is extremely good. This is one of the best speakers that i will keep for a long long time. Sobrang sarap sa tenga.

Ang ganda mikee. I have owned much more expensive bookshelf speakers before pero alang binatbat lahat sa Dentons.

Master NDL join the club, you will be very pleased with this one. The price is crazy too. Sobrang mura. :)

This is a true taste of hifi at a bargain price

Nagpunta ako kanina sa SNS wala silang stocks... ubos daw yun 5pcs nila... hopefully next week daw sabi ni Mr Vic dumating yun 10pcs nila na order...

As per Mr Vic, mas malinaw daw sa kanya yun B6 pagdating sa vocals, then well rounded nmn yun Denton...
sayang talaga kung may demo lang (binili ni... :)) at least nakilatis ko yun signature if ok ayun deposit na sana ako...

http://www.hi-fiworld.co.uk/index.php/loudspeakers/65-reviews/519--wharfedale-denton-80th-anniversay-edition.html

The Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary Edition measured flat on-axis, grill on or off. Slightly off-axis (i.e. pointing straight down a room and not at the listener), with grill on, it gave the result published. Taking the grill off made little difference, even above 10kHz where wavelengths are short, and off-axis balance differed little from on-axis so dispersion is good.  Phase matching was also very good, response varying little with height. Although looking retro, the Denton was in fact better than most modern loudspeakers in these important areas. The drive units are very high quality.

Absence of a midband crossover dip will result in plentiful detail and a sense of definition, whilst the slow roll off in upper treble will ensure the sort of smooth sound older loudspeakers were known for. This is a loudspeaker that will not screech, yet it is tonally very accurate, more so than most.

The bass unit reaches down to 70Hz and there is some peaking around 100Hz. The two small ports are broadly tuned (red trace) and effectively damp the bass unit so the Denton 80th has good bass control and will not boom or sound sloppy. Although port output reaches down low, small ports do not produce much acoustic power; their SPL was just +2dB up on forward output at 80Hz.

Our 200mS decay spectrum (not shown here) was clean, even at low frequencies; the cabinet is not ‘hot’ and will not overhang or boom. The drive units are relatively uncoloured too.

At 86dB sensitivity was high as small loudspeakers go, largely because a 4 Ohm bass unit has been used and, below 500Hz, this is a 4 Ohm loudspeaker our impedance curve shows (5.7 Ohms overall). This curve also confirms excellent bass unit damping by absence of residual peaks either side of the anti-resonant port system. The load is largely resistive, another plus point, as energy is not returned to the amplifier.

The Denton will have strong upper bass and a full bodied presentation, with smooth treble and plenty of mid-range detail. Bass looks controlled and should be of good quality. This is a very modern, well executed design. Only the cabinet is trad.

Oo nga.  ;D Good thing it stays sa apple store so everytime my daughter changes her iTouch, it's still there. Though i don't use it anymore because i have access to Audio Control RTA.

Wala pa din waterfall app. Ang dami na ngang RTA sa android. But most of them may bayad kapad mas-powerful.

Dip ba yun sa 50s region? May peak ang room ko around 60hz. Bagay sa room ko kung ganyan ang magiging reaction niya sa room ko. Buti na lang wala nang stock.  ;D

The speaker naturally rolls off below 100hz. The bass reflex design bumps up 100hz. That accounts for the "dips" below and above 100hz. It is a very good implementation which should give a good sense of bass impact.

Mukhang may epidemyang kumakalat...Denton-itis!   :D

Was in Glorietta kanina, decided to drop by Spectra habang gumagala wife & son. Usyoso kung may Denton sila & bakit walang display, ubos na raw pati demo unit di pinatawad   >:D

The past 2 months daw bigla tumaas ang demand, in fact may 2 pang nagpa-reserve pag dumating na bagong shipment...good news is they are expecting new stocks to arrive next weekend, so kuha na mga PDVDers.

1st blind buy speakers lol..for this year I was really gunning for a set of speakers costing 4x of this before getting married sa january..but I needed the funds so I opted for this set..plus the price/performance ratio is a no brainer..but I really intended to buy this for my father as a retirement gift..gusto ko na palitan JBL loudspeakers and Bose monitors nya..pero akin na lang muna haha.

I was really surprised by the packaging of the speakers..sanay kasi ako sa mga entry level lang na gears..they are in individual bags and they do indeed have gloves for handling..the finish and the build quality really shouts quality..very happy with it..I am feeling sorry for my father baka hindi ko na ibigay sa kanya haha..

anyway..what is the finish of the denton? it's not glossy kasi..it's like soft matte or something..do you guys know?

to sir deist and other who has sir joma's stand creations for dentons..when you place the speakers on the stands, do you put something that prohibits na speakers from sliding? or diretso patong lang?

for the longest time I can finally update my HT Picture gallery thread again hehe

I use an artist product from National Bookstore. It is for tacking. Parang strips of bubble gum. Holds in place but can be removed easily.
