Vintage Sunday Mornings.
« on: Nov 11, 2012 at 09:18 AM »

Organizing the November Hifi Show takes a lot out of me physically.  It’s mostly my fault because I tend to micro manage every situation.  This year I decided to sneak out during the Saturday night revelry to catch up on my sleep.  The next morning I decided to tune out and shift my focus on some geeky tinkering.  I mounted a vintage long body Koetsu Rosewood Signature I purchased yesterday at the Hifi Show.  My eyes not being what they use to be, it took me an hour to set things up.  Once I got through the Feickert Alignment Tool, the Hifi News LP, a little azimuth and VTA tweaking, I was ready for some Stacey Kent and oh how glorious she was.  Hahahaha…I can hear my Audio buddies snickering at my choice of music.  Contrary to the serious enthusiast’s goals, I love coloration.  Beautiful coloration!  And in typical Koetsu form, there were loads of that wrap-in-my-mother’s-arms warmth oozing out of my speaker.  I love this vintage stuff!

Today is the last day of the show.  If you’re in the mood for some treasure hunting, be it an LP you’ve been searching for, a vintage amp your dad once owned or replacement for that busted vacuum tube, I suggest you make plans to visit.  There is a ton of treasures to be found at the November Hifi Show……….unless I beat you to it.  Hahahahahaha
