^ Typo error in above article headline. These should be July 2022 releases.

With regards to the titles, oh wow, what a loaded month! Raging Bull 4K and Okja 4K for me. Still undecided if I should upgrade my Virgin Suicides to 4K. Devil in a Blue Dress 4K and Drive My Car are also tempting options.

Criterion has partnered with Disney and plans to release on 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray Andrew Stanton's WALL•E (2008), featuring the voices of Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin, Fred Willard, and Macintalk. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 22.

Criterion Lays Off 20 Percent of Staff in ‘Reorganization’ Move

Criterion has let go a number of staffers in a “reorganization” of the company that took place on Wednesday, October 19.

Criterion Collection President Peter Becker told IndieWire that the layoffs affected several departments — and about 20 percent of the company, with 16 employees laid off from a staff of over 80.

“Yesterday was a sad day at Criterion,” Becker said via email. “We had to part ways with a number of staffers across several departments as part of a reorganization intended to prepare the company for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, which are markedly different from the ones we had built ourselves up to address in the past.”

He added that there were no further staff changes planned. “We spoke personally with everyone impacted to express the company’s respect and our gratitude for their work, of which we all remain very proud,” he said.

Criterion Presents Janus Contemporaries

Starting this fall, Criterion will proudly join Janus Films in presenting Janus Contemporaries, a new line of home-video editions of first-run releases, fresh from theaters, following their streaming premieres on the Criterion Channel.

Kicking off with Jerzy Skolimowski’s Cannes Jury Prize winner and Academy Award nominee EO, the 2023 slate of the Janus Contemporaries line will feature Jafar Panahi’s No Bears, Louis Garrel’s The Innocent, Hlynur Pálmason’s Godland, Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne’s Tori and Lokita, and Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch’s The Eight Mountains.
