elms kapag niremove mo o hindi nakakabit ung center speaker iba un sa turning it off sa receiver..
kapag nakatangal - wala talagang lead dialogue
kapag nakaoff sa receiver - (havent tried) receiver will send dialogues to  l and f

Yung kasing sub pag turn off ko naging large yung front speaker ko so wala talaga pumapasok sa sub kahit nakakabit pa siya sa receiver. Alam ko ganyan din sa speaker but i haven't tried sa sub lang kasi na off ko ung sub so pag off ko wala na pumapasok sa sub.

iba talaga ang mixing ni MUSIC sa MOVIES....They go on "FULL SCALE" metering tapos pan center or hard panned sa left and right ang "LEAD VOCALS" hehehe . ...pag movies kasi you to simulate the real world lalo na when mixing the dilalgue track :)  so mahina talaga siya compared to music

When you "turn off" the center speaker , the receiver will auto down mix or redirect the center signal to the left and left channels
yes correct. but if you simply disconnect it and the center is set ON at the receiver, all center output will be lost.

previously you said that turning off (via avr settings) and disconnecting the center speaker will result in no dialogs (due to downmixing being activated)

sabi ko po

turning off....will down mix po i know most of the AVR  i know does this automatcally

disconnecting w/o with out turning off sa AVR setting . tapos naka dicreete....wala pong lalabas na Dialogue dyan hanggang matapos ang movie hahahaha pwera na lang kung naka pan yung dial minsan ....may not be applicable if you are  watching a concert hehehehehe

try it. para ma-prove mo na rin kung tama ang previous statement mo:
kung wala kang center speaker walang boses

ok, this was your previous post which is quite confusing
ayun! in red hehehe wag mo i turf off yung sa speakers settings ....tapos walang connection yung center .....sigurado wala kang dialog sir :)..........nag auto downmix kasi yan pag ganun sir....sa lahat yata ng AMP ganun AFAIK.....so lahat ng center signal punta lahat sa Left and Right channel yan....BTW I'm using and OLD model MARANTZ HT amp  ;).

so we are in agreement then, that doing so does not lose center channel audio (and the dialog associated with it), it only activates phantom center by redirecting information to the FL/FR

CENTER not for VOICE?
AFAIK
lahat ng track  DTS , DD, DD TRUE HD, DTSHD MA
lahat ng boses sa center binabato....kung wala kang center speaker walang boses
unless istereo
naka downmix ung movie mo sa STEREO kaya dyan lumalabas...
boses ay para sa center speaker..... were taking about HT...
unless ang pinapanood mo stereo agad ung audio...AVI files , aac, etc....

personal opinion lang..

or try other players baka may settings to satisfy your needs....
lakihan ko ...hindi mo sinama sa quote mo -  unless istereo...
hindi ko na binangit dyan ung pag off ng center speaker sa avr settings dahil wala namang options ang INT AMP....

replayan mo naman to kung tama
INT amp is use for MUSIC listening
while RECEIVER is use for HT listening..

True. Hinanaan ko na lang yung subwoofer ko hehehe.  AVPHILE also has a point, my audio gears are geard towards the warm side, medjo laidback ang mids. I guess its just something I have to accept for now with my current gears

I think solved na si qguy sa 2.1 setup nya. he has accepted the reality na magkaiba ang dynamic range ng movies sa music.

ulitin ko pa?
di yan problema kung maayos ang downmixing to stereo. i've used different 2-channel systems for movies since vhs (antanda ko na!) to laserdisc to the early years of dvd, maayos naman ang vocals. one only has to accept the reality that movies have wider dynamic range than most music, so the system must be able to handle such range.
we've already gone full circle. i rest my case.

Problem solved  >:D  Funny how I often use this feature to boost the bass when listening to headphones, now it solves my weak vocals, parang may center channel na ako  >:D
