if the prices of the flagship Plasma models of Samsung are considerably cheaper than their LED range, that could be the way to go if planning for an upgrade this year ... i would think that the Panasonic would have a more premium price ... wait and see muna ... hopefully towards the end of this year, heavily discounted na

Ayos lang ang presyo ng mga Samsung flagship plasmas, not too expensive.

In 3 years, my next plasma will be a Samsung flagship 60.  Ang baba kasi nila mag presyo, no need to wait for price drops on obsolete models.

Unbeatable na talaga ang Koreans ngayon.

magkano kaya ang 64 incher series 8(E) plasma 2012? kasi with that info i guess we could estimate how much is the 64F8500. i like the 64 inch becoz as they say lalo gumanda ang blacks pag malaki ang screen.

if they can get rid of those features that has nothing to do about picture quality maybe tv could be less than 160k but hey everything should be connected to the grid nowadays, i'm just saying hehehe..

Marketing strategy talaga yon sir.

Price: P160K.  Low-end 2012 1080p model lang nila yon, 3 series lower than their flagship series (Panny 2012 models are VT50, GT50, ST50 and UT50), and 60 inch panel lang.

Prices are OK for the low-end 720p plasmas.

- They have the low-end 720p 42X50, 50X50 and 50XT50.  But I didn't want them because they're terrible TVs.
- I wanted a 50UT50.  Panny Phils. doesn't have it.  But they do have a 60UT50, overpriced at P160K (US List price is only $1,799.99 [P73,133.49]).
- I wanted a 50ST50.  Panny Phils. doesn't have it.  But they do have a 65ST50.  65 is too big for me, and it's overpriced at around P230K+ (US List price is only $2,999.95 [P121,887.78]).

In other words, Panny Phils. doesn't have the TVs I want, but has the TVs I don't want.

===================================

Compare with Samsung Phils.

2012 51E550: US list price is $1,199.99 (P48,755.52).  Local price is now around P48K+.

Not bad at all.

Hope the new models roll in so the older ones can go on sale  8)

Dapat LED TV upgrade pero ganda ng  prices ng plasma 50 inchers.  I like their black levels to boot.

It's almost the middle of March and there is yet no real news in Tokyo as regards 2013 Plasma models.  Even the latest Mar-Apr 2013 catalogue still shows the 5/50 series of 2012.  The only confirmed new model is that of DT60 which is an LED HDTV with sleek and slim glass & metal design.

Nothing interesting to check out at the Panasonic display areas at the moment.

Announced in January-February, actually available in store by March.   I bought my last 2 plasmas both in March nung bagong bagong luto pa sila.  Every year ganon ang Panasonic Plasma ever since I became interested in it.  So this year is really odd - (bad) signs of the times.

Alam naman ng mga plasma owners na mas malakas sa kuryente ang plasma.

Pero ayaw pa rin nila ng LCD/LED.

First quarter of 2013 is almost finished hence, the VT50 and/or ST50 should be arriving in the Philippines in the next 2-3 quarters?   ;D ;D ;D.

What's new sa Samsung Plasmas?  I know they are building huge facilities for LED manufacturing in China right now, and they bought 3% of Sharp - but that's also LED.
