HElP! Set-up NAS at home
« on: Apr 15, 2013 at 07:20 PM »
Hi Pdvd masters,

I know it's been asked a lot of times already but I can't seem to grasp the whole picture(noob!hehe).

I'm planning to buy a mediasonic prob0x 4 bay enclosure and an NMT. I will place all our family videos and photos on a single hDD and movies on another HDD.

Here are my questions:
1.HOw can I access it thru wifi?
Probox -> NMT -> router -> laptop?
2. Will streaming 1080p videos be a problem thru wifi /Lan if for example 4 laptops are accessing it and i'm playing a movie in the nmt to the home theater?

Any help is highly appreciated! :)

Your NMT must be able to share the Probox either as DLNA server or as a Samba network drive. Make sure your NMT has that capability. In addition, the NMT must recognize more than one drive through USB or eSata.

You are probably asking too much out of this setup.
