Season's greetings to you and your family. My siblings from abroad are in town so yes, still enjoying Christmas. We will be capping the year at Subic. Perhaps it is a happy new year by the time you red this.

Initially I used the Schiit Asgard as a preamp. Iyon kasi ang gamit ko na line driver sa t-amp. That sounded very good. Then I later I noticed that the 2a3 amp had a very high gain. The gain knob did a good job with a lot of headroom. So I removed the Schiit Asgard from the system.

Signal chain now:

Netbook--->ODAC--->2a3 amp--->speakers--->sub

Gino's Red Room Revisited

What a difference speaker orientation and height makes. More robust and stable bass images from a 10" sub. Overall imaging improved although in mini scale.

Salamat sa mga puri. Ang babait ninyo!

Interestingly the fostex FE167E sound better horizontal than vertical in this room. Doing so puts the port on the same horizontal plane as the drivers, lowers the speaker height, and moves the main speaker and supertweeters outward.  Dunno which did what but it sounds very good. Solid drum kits.

Low bass is my remaining issue apart from the usual untreated room peaks. It is disappointing with EDM.
