I've had a number of OLED-equipped phones. No visible burn-in on my devices yet. I guess it's because I don't burn the screens bright, I normally use darker themes, I don't use the always-on display feature and I infrequently use phones for turn by turn navigation. I guess I'm also an outlier since I use 5 handhelds, so my screentime gets divided among the devices.

Yep. I took a leap of faith and just pulled the trigger on the XS Max because there's a good promo on it when I recontract to a higher data plan. I will just use another phone for waze/google maps.

I've used OLED and AMOLED phones since they first came out (Nokia and Samsung).  Have been fortunate not to get any burn in issues yet.

I've only observed this in plasma so far.  My uncle has both a 75" and 65" OLED Sony and LG.  No burn-ins yet but no one is allowed to play games on these tv's, though.  Pag nanood ng sports wala pa naman, thank goodness.

I don't think AMOLED displays are susceptible to image burn in ... I'm using both a Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S9+ ... no matter how long I play Sudoku on the S7 Edge which is already 2 years old, walang burn in image ... yung S9+ which is less than a year old, na-burn yung grid ng Sudoku sa phone ko ... pampalipas ko kasi ng oras yung Sudoku especially for long flights while listening to music

I had the first generation Samsung Galaxy S with a SuperAMOLED screen, and it had home screen icon burn-in by the third year of ownership, and it wasn't like my usage was particularly hard on the display. No Waze, auto brightness, screen off at 30-sec. etc.

I was at the SM BF in Paranaque this afternoon and I overheard the sales rep who was accompanying a customer who bought a 65-inch Skyworth TV that they have a recently released Skyworth OLED TV that is better than what their customer bought ... I asked the sales rep if how much is the 65-inch Skyworth OLED TV, he told me that it is 60K+ ... I did not have the chance to look at the said OLED TV as we were already in the elevator and I was on the way home ... If the price point is true, that is a good development, and that Skyworth TV is probably worth considering ... this would also mean that perhaps the other popular brands will soon drop their price if the OLED panels can be cheaply produced

One of our clients who has a factory in China said they can get OLED panels from LG for about $500.  Hoping it will cause a cascade of TV prices.

Soon, PDVD will be called POLED  ;D

Hi po, anu po ba pinaka main difference ng lg b8 vs c8?
Kasi sabi nila yun processor lang daw, mostly ba mararamdaman ko lang ba yun pag nag streaming like netflix? Cause i will also be using my apple tv when it comes to streaming...
Sayang din kasi yun difference in terms of price of b8 vs c8..

Also wala naman “burn out” issue ang lg? Usually kasi mga 6 hrs din namin ginagamit ang tv

There are 4K Devants that I've seen at 49" and smaller panel sizes.  Honestly, even at about 2 feet away I could hardly tell it was 4k source material.

The C8 and C9 have the same panels. The only differences are the processor (Alpha vs Alpha 2) and the HDMI 2.1 port in the C9. The C9 has a dimmer panel though (900nits vs about 700nits).

I waited until the C9 came out before getting my 65" C8 for P119,900 SEALED and BRAND NEW! That was the promo price for display units that were used 12hrs/day for 6 months. Without any plans on getting one, I challenged the sales guy at Rockwell that I would buy a sealed unit on the spot if he could find me one. He found one in another branch and that was the last sealed C8 unit sold by SM. :)

I think the reports of burn in were staged for Samsung QLED Q90R TVs. If you watch the videos on YouTube, the burn in images are clearly defined - which shows that someone deliberately ran the same static image on the screen, quite possibly for months straight.

Nope  it is a known phenomenon for OLED, infact they withraw nga daw sa Korea airport all OLED display screen. This was also proven by RTINGS but those were in extreme use naman with static display. It's highly unlikely na magkaburn in ang average home usage.

While the risk of burn in is always present for all emission displays such as OLED and plasma, the point of my posting is that OLED's detractors have deliberately burned in their OLED's by displaying static images on high contrast 24/7 for months in end. This is obvious from the defined burned in images in their panels. As you mentioned, regular home use won't result in those exaggerated burned in images from Korea's airport or on YouTube.

If 99.99% of your content is 720p and 1080p then get any full HD tv. Why pay exttra for 4K when you're not watching 4K?
