Outside of the box there should be a white sticker with barcode.

Sometimes they publish the production date & batch.

TBH how "new" the product is is not that important unless you intend to eat it. :-)

Enjoy your OLED! It will wow you!

^i’m buying a sale unit kasi sir and sale units are sometimes demo units, not really interested how “new it is” regarding production etc… but more of to be sure its new stock and not display or demo units passed off as new stocks :)

Also the LG A1 unit pala is only 60hz refresh rate and not 120hz, is that something that i should be concerned about? Main use will really be for streaming movies - disney+, netflix, hbo max etc …source will be apple tv 4k and nvidia shield pro…  thanks in advance :)

If your budget is for display unit then 60hz vs 120hz difference is not really a factor in purchase.

120hz would be important to you if you had a PS5, Xbox Series X or a PC gaming machine.

To know if the unit is not brand new is if it has signs of being unsealed before you had it opened in-store.

Personally I do not bother doing this archaic practice and insist it be sold to me sealed and be unsealed at my install location.

When store refuses to do this then I just walk out as they're wasting my time.

Thanks for the info sir on the difference of 60hz vs 120hz, appreciate it. My budget is not for a display unit hehe in fact was just going to impulse buy it at this store in Manila after seeing it on sale and the one who assisted me said that they are just clearing old stock hence it was on sale. Just asked here as home theater experts here may have ways to verify it but turns out there is none… will have to return to the store to check it might be a good buy if its indeed just old stock and not a demo unit. I read in reviews of the unit the processor is quite slow but i guess it will not matter in my case as i use an apple tv 4k and the nvidia shield as my sources

There is difference on 120 vs 60  hz.  I wasn't able to demo them side by side using the 24fps content though, but this is one of the reason I bought a C1 instead of an A1. Plus the C1 has a better processor.

WHEN DISPLAYING 24 FPS CONTENT
While a 120Hz TV doesn't inherently produce better motion, it can provide a few advantages over standard 60Hz TVs. One of the most important advantages is the ability to play back content that is meant to be displayed at 24 fps, which is often found in movies. Most TVs can simply lower their own refresh rate to 24Hz when the content is 24 fps, but some sources, such as Chromecast, output video at 60 fps, even if the content is 24 fps. This means that the TV's refresh rate remains at 60Hz, and motion won't appear smooth, which is an effect called judder. A 60Hz TV has trouble removing 24 fps judder because 60 isn't a multiple of 24. To display this type of content, a technique known as a "3:2 pulldown" is used. Basically, 12 of the 24 frames repeat three times, while the other 12 repeat twice, totaling 60 frames. Not everybody notices this, but it causes some scenes, notably panning shots, to appear juddery. However, 120Hz TVs have an advantage here because they can simply display each frame five times since 120 is a multiple of 24.

Netflix are mostly 24PFS content

^ On a related note, I have an LG C1 and an Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen). Is it ideal to enable Cinema Screen on the C1 as well as Match Frame Rate on the Apple TV 4K? As far as I know these are supposed to do the same function so I wonder if having them both on will conflict somehow or do they complement each other?

Display unit = demo unit

Old stock = usually sealed stock that has yet to be sold for the 1st time

A lot of unsold demo units are assigned to HMR for liquidation.

Indonesia and Philippines lang ang walang MASTER SERIES OLED

https://www.sony.com.ph/bravia/oled

Siguro ba na kulang purchasing power natin kumpara sa Thailand, India or Vietnam?

Pero yet:
Buhay pa ring ang Bang and Olufsen stores sa Metro Manila and may bumibili na Class A market sa mga stores nila sa Shangrila Mall and Rockwell Makati.

Does the upper bracket ng bansa go straight to B&O for OLED TV?
And then skip Sony altogether?

That 42"C2 OLED TV is bang-for-the-buck as a PC gaming monitor compared to other locally available high-end gaming monitors as long as you have a GPU that supports HDMI 2.1. Good thing the price of GPUs are dropping.

Abenson in Trinoma is offering a 65C1 display unit for ₱75k cash and ₱83k 12 months installment (0%).  Power on time is 4,200 hours in total. Given that an OLED's life expectancy is 100,000 hours, this is basically 4% depreciated.

Saw this last Friday and almost bought it except it wouldn't fit in the room where I plan on putting the C1 I was shopping for. Hanggang 55 lang talaga kaya. Ended up finding a display unit 55in at Anson's for 59k which only had 86 hours of power-on time and mint accessories.
