guys, tanong ko lang, ksi habang nanunuod ako tv may narinig ako prng "tick" na sound then folowwed by a white smoke coming out of the body of the tv sa likod, parang amoy goma. so pinatay ko agad tinanggal yung saksakan. then called LG. they told me na wag muna gmitin papunthn daw nila sa tech. so after 24hrs may pumunta and they switched on the tv and all functions are working naman. and wala na yung amoy goma and usok. tpos they unscrewed the body of tv yung s likod, and they said wla naman nakitang sunog or blowned fuse. anu guys s tingin nyo? final report nila nakasulat all functions working, no defect. (oled65c7)

(I have seen that before and it was an electrolytic capacitor venting. Everything continued to work fine for a few days until the capacitor completely dried up, then it no longer would turn on. It worked again after it was replaced."

Agree.

ISDB-T operates in the 0.5 - 0.8 GHz range so it doesn't penetrate through walls very well (compared to say FM radio at 0.1 GHz). It works best from line of sight of the transmitter (a mast helps in most cases).

Okay ba mga tv units sa HMR Pioneer Pasig? May offer sa akin na Bnew LG OLED 65C8 and 65E8, 119K same price. Medyo natatakot lang ako bilhin kasi 3 months LG warranty lang. Direct from LG Phils mga units nila.

The Wifi module of my LG TV bought 8 months ago failed.
Replaced the module under warranty by the repairman who came to the house.

65UJ7500 akin tho. Not oled. But its a wifi module. Most likely, same across models.

Either demo units or these units were physically dropped.

Amazon lowered their LG 65C8 to $2,399 (P126,129)

Purchased a 65B6 from HMR a momth ago for P65K and deferred payments for 3 months at zero interest. Warranty is for 3months. Usage was a mere 90hrs. Check the usage hours before pulling the trigger.

I called HMR Pioneer Pasig and the brand new & sealed 65C8 has been sold. Whoever got that for that price, I salute you. Well played.

What remains is the brand new & sealed 65E6. It isn't an 65E8.

I remember witnessing a customer who wanted his money back because the TV that he bought at HMR conked out after 5 months. I think it was an LCD 65 incher. Due to the very strict warranty policy though which is 3 months he went home with his non functioning 65 inch TV at the end of a lengthy discussion.

For me due to the hit or miss failure rate of most modern TV's; i'd be inclined to pay full for a 2 year peace of mind. YMMV though.

Kayo pala nakakuha. 65K lang?! Iniintay ko rin magkaron ulit sila nito. Every month may dumarating silang units galing LG Phils.

I was informed by HMR Pioneer Pasig that they have a OLED77G7T LG 77” Signature OLED TV for P375,749 ($7,149).

Sadly... they broke the factory seal to check if all the parts are present.

Amazon has it for $5,899.00.

I would be inclined to get it if it was priced P190,000

If HMR is really selling a legit E8 model, just grab it at the Php 119k price.

I got mine discounted to Php 180k at Abenson's UPTown Center so that is almost 60k positive variance for you assuming it is really a legit E8 and not C8.

HMR regularly gets these LG units for disposal. Washing machine, Inverter Ref's, OLED and UHD TV's, AC units etc. I have a go to guy Sales rep in HMR Pioneer and Sucat and he regularly informs me when they have new stocks for disposal. Most if not all of the units are Class B (showroom models) with minor defects or New Old Stock (NOS) units.

Lazada supplies them as well with various items that were returned (may return sticker pa) or brand new but weren't accepted for delivery (open box).

In the end its a gamble. If you managed to purchase a good unit that lasted a long time then you save a LOT however if you lucked out and the panel gets busted in 4 months then say goodbye to your 100k investment. The scary after thought here is the fact that even brand new units directly from the manufacturer can or may have defects in the near term however you have the 2 year warranty to turn to when that happens.

And the 3 months HMR Warranty will probably be a pain in the neck to go through too. Consider that there's added consternation and stress as well for the buyer as it is a fairly new toy purchased.

If the savings is under 50% off SRP, I probably wouldn't even consider taking a chance on it.

I was able to get a LG 65" high model Quantum Dot type 4K LED TV 2 years ago for just 38t (tawad from 39T), new open box. Still works great today.

Winning always feels great and I do admit to doing high-risk purchases. Nothing beats a truly good bargain.

I think one way to mitigate the risk is to ask to access the service menu of the tv.

However, a high-risk purchase costing 6 figures is a bit too rich for me. Add in the fact that there are no known shops which can fix broken OLEDs and you have a high-stakes gamble worth the price of a fairly decent home theater system.
