didnt have a chance to check on the PANA, was just aiming for LG, Sony & 3rd opt was Samsung. The Sony Oled was still high @ P120k up, I think only the LG Oled has drop below P100k as crazyhog said in Abenson branches. These are the 65 inchers.

This is what I saw on Carousell:

📛PANASONIC  OLED TV📛

📌MODEL: TH-55GZ1000S
❎SRP: 118,990
✅CASH:74,500

📌MODEL:TH-65GZ1000S
❎SRP:178,990
✅CASH:112,000

I have considered  it as well last year but sa LG na  din ako bumagsak. GZ I think is still a 2019 model and am not so keen on its aesthetic (TV stand) ..Bdway am a Panasonic LCD TV owner din. The new model of Panasonic OLED is HZ series, which is technically 2020 model pa rin..

I foresee the GZ models going on clearance during the holiday season, maybe 70k for the 65 inch.

As I've posted earlier, the 65 HZ1000 below 100k would be tempting. The current CX pricing is tough to beat though.

A lamp positioned in plane with a display screen (either side) that does not introduce reflection is the easiest thing to do.
I prefer a warm white tone.
If you are adventurous, install a diy ambilight at the back of the screen. But there we go again, complicating things. :P

get one of those USB powered LED light strips with double sided tape. Once you turn the TV on it lights up as well. very easy to install. Had the same issue before and that solution lessened my eye strain when watching movies in a dark room

Maganda daw yung mga bagong OLED panels ng LG G1 at Sony A90J TVs. Mataas daw yung HDR peak brightness nila so medyo malapit na sa level ng QLED while still having OLED deep blacks.

Abangan ko yung G1 para first OLED TV ko.

As for now this LG CX series is so ok for me as I'm using it in a dark room, it's cool & relaxing to watch, not like our QLED it really strains the eyes especially when HDR is ON. picture setting at Cinema Dark Room for me for the OLED.

Try mo Filmmaker Mode sya pinaka madilim and not eye straining.
On the observation about improve brightness..nag agree sa Digital Trend reviewer..very subtle daw changes..The smartest buy pa rin daw for now is the CX given the current pricing ng CX..Bang for the bucks...But siempre if money not an issue the G1 or Sony A90J  and 2021 Panasonic OLED is best.

I'm after peak brightness in the context of how it's applied in HDR content which is supposed to be localized only to where and when it is called for by the scene on a calibrated display.

Quote
HDR standards such as HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are basically adjustment information embedded in video that tell your TV how to render the material. In our experience, HDR works best with TVs that have at least 700 nits of peak brightness. You’ll get some of the HDR effect (vivid laser shots, more detail in dark areas) with TVs generating less than that, but the overall palette can be quite dark, especially with the older HDR10.

hindi kaya sa HDMI cable sir .... I recently upgraded all my HDMI cables to the new standard that support 8k ... you may be using one that's old standard - there's a big difference on the HDMI specs

Thanks for  the suggestions.  I used a high speed HMDI cable.  It worked flawlessly the first week. Then after that, the CEC power doesnt seem to sync well; then the TV audio doesnt get to the AVR via eARC;  then the eARC doesnt seem to shift the audio when I change media source.

By the way my set 5.1 is:   marantz AVR  (thats eARC ready) with a separate AMP for the front speakers.  I have an NVIDIA shied as a connected media source.

As a temporary solution,  I turned off eARC. I then connected my TV output to the AVR via an Optical Cable.

If I want to watch using  NVIDIA shield, I manually chose the  designated HDMI port.  And, If  I want to watch via the LG CX Apps, I chose the TV Audio Port in the AVR.

Alls fine, except that ang  dami lang pinipindut na remote (TV, NVIDIA, AVR and the Power Amp for the fronts. hahah), not to mention the manual switch for the Rel sub.

Until I fix this software cable, am thinking of using a Harmony Remote/Hub that I bought 2 years ago but havent unboxed.

Except for the above kink,  the OLED experience, with the 5.1 sound  is just a major upgrade in viewing experience. No regrets.

There are multiple sellers on Facebook now offering the 65" LG CX OLED for 85k. Meanwhile the 55" is selling for 65k.

These are great deals; very tempting considering the CX is a really good TV.

the CX Series scored quite low on HDR brightness. I'm now vary wary purchasing TV's that do not score well on HDR Brightness. My sony TV supports HDR but scored low on HDR brightness. Though it's able to show HDR pictures the overall picture is blander than non-HDR content.

any suggestions on alternative models to check out?
