They had Super-OLED TVs from 2012 to 2014 but stopped. They resumed with QD-OLED this year. Both are RGB OLED tech, which LG dismissed as not economically viable back in 2014.

https://www.cnet.com/tech/home-entertainment/lg-says-white-oled-gives-it-ten-years-on-tv-competition/

Super-OLED TVs performed better than LG's offerings when it was available, but it costed way more. This was when LG's WOLED was already expensive, causing Samsung's offering to flop.

Today's QD-OLED offerings are closer to LG's flagship WOLED products in pricing while offering better image quality and efficiency. Whether this will be a recipe for success will be up to the market to decide. Sony had already jumped ship for its flagship OLED product and is now sourcing from Samsung. Panasonic and Xiaomi are rumored to be next.

At the other end of the spectrum, Chinese panel  manufacturer BOE is now manufacturing OLED TV panels. CSOT and TCL Huaxing are expected to follow.

I have the LG OLED but thinking lately of getting another one...

how's the Philips OLED models so far? I think they also use LG OLED panels and come with the ambilight feature?

The ones I've seen had good PQ, as expected, but had prices higher than Sony, unfortunately.

when I got my OLED TV a few months ago, I was also offered the Philips OLED tv ... you're correct that the SRP is higher or at par with Sony and LG, but they are giving away a bigger discount from SRP if you ask for the best price (this is at Ansons)
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

Base on initial reviews, it is at par with LG G2. With the G2 giving 40% more brightness than previous iteration.
For now, I think we have a good battle. Good thing about LG is tech already mature.

The problem I saw in Samsung base on reviews is that for gaming, the picture is wash out. But reviewer is saying it might be fixed via software upgrade. Early version hiccups.

The "wash out" is probably due to the AR coating. It will cause the blacks to look grey in a bright room and may make some bright pixels bleed into dark ones, but will make any reflection less distracting.

Color volume and accuracy are superior in the Samsung, thanks to the panel. LG's flagship has bridged the gap in peak brightness and seems to have better image processing, however.

Nope not coating. More on software handling.

Thanks! I hope they'd fix it via a firmware update. The problem doesn't seem to exist in filmmaker mode but this mode raises input lag significantly (and may lock out 4K120).

IMO that is still expensive for a demo unit.

Yup, considering 55C1's are being sold for 66k these days and these are not demo units.

Cheapest now are the LG CX series from HMR but the warranty is only a couple of months, I think.  Next up are the local market LG C1's na naka clearance sale ngayon, 2 years warranty (check mo sa FB marketplace).
