OFF TOPIC wala ako mahanap na thread.

I am using an AVR for my TV. But I noticed on my current LG (and the previous samsung), when there is a power outage while watching the tv and after the power is restored (even coming from the AVR) the tv turns on automatically. Is there a way to go around this?
Or Do I need to buy a UPS to at least have the ability to turn off the tv during outages?

you can try to use a power on delay device, power on will be delayed by 4-6mins.

My AVR has a delay function.

But since the tv status is ON when the power was cut off, it will turn on when the power is restored, even coming from an AVR.

The only solution I can think off is a UPS, which will not turn off the tv during fluctuation. And even in brown outs, you still have the ability to turn off the tv manually.

I tried it before AVR to UPS, its keeps the TV ON during power outages & safe especially w the power going out for a few seconds only, but it was just a hassle for me turning on & off a lot of switches during a watch. I think it would be ok for people that leave their gears ON all the time, me I usually turned it OFF when not watching. They say the UPS has an AVR function built to it but when I tested it, whatever voltage the wall outlet gives is also produced by the UPS so I hooked it up with a separate AVR to keep it sure that the voltage is at safe levels.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

What UPS brand did you use?
I am thinking of this one - PRECISION UPS

I normally keep the AVR on, but the tv off. But the AVR is plug into a smart plug which I can turn off easily via smartphone. I also program the plug to turn off every day - early morning.

APC 650w/1200va coz I check it out before the power consumptions on LG OLEDs the 65 inchers is rated at 460w iirc. Other brands are not rated that much, just around 200w+ the most.

You might have over estimate? Base here it is only 130W - LG C1 65 OLED. Maybe you included the Audio set up?

In any case, thanks for the help.

One last thing, did it help to make your LG last longer?

Naka AVR lang din ako with time delay since 2015 up to now wala naman issue yung TV..

Yun lang di na ma update webOS at medyo laggy na..

Parang hindi good deal.  Yung Panasonic na 55 JZ1000 (2021 model din) naging less than 50k na lang after 1 year.

Speaking of Panasonic

Napansin ko na meron sila LZ2000
https://www.panasonic.com/id/consumer/home-entertainment/televisions/led-tv/th-65lz2000g.html

Interesting.
Siguro on one end, it's possible na since Malaysia ang factory ng mga Panasonic TV (afaik), then zero (or at least very minimal ang logistics / importation fee).
Malaysia -> Thailand, pwede ipadala via land route / truck.

Kumpara to say Panasonic Malaysia to Philippines, at the very least, kelangan ng barko.
So mas mahal ang logistic fee (?)

Naglabas yung Samsung and Sony ng QD-OLED pero hindi sa Pilipinas. A90K WOLED wala din. Max sa atin ay A80K.

There's a brand new, old stock Panasonic 55GZ1000 for sale on Facebook marketplace for ₱40,250.  Note that this is a 2019 model (still a very good tv, to be honest).

The 2021 model JZ1000 can still be found but I don't think any 55" models are left.

Do you think there is a chance Sony will release their A95K locally this year 2023 or best bet is just get one from the States and have it shipped here?

I have a Meiji Servo motor AVR. Max wattage is 1500. I use my receiver and TV for this unit, I still have a few wattage to spare.

I realized just recently that the power in our place is around 235-240V. I noticed this after installing ang voltage protector on our fridge. There are times it goes over 240V (the voltage protector cut off the power once it reached this).  This might be reason why my samsung lcd conked out after around 5 years. I used to have a zebra AVR which is not as good as the Meije in terms of specs.

I thinks there is a dedicated topic here on AVR, you might want to look for it.

Get the ones with servos.  The ones I use in the house are an old Maldol (1500 watts) and a couple of Goldsource Stavols (2000w and 3000w).  Both are available on Shopee / Lazada.  I like the 2KW Goldsource one best as there is a built in circuit breaker and the company is ISO certified (the color might be too red for your taste).

Note that the 100v and 110v outlets of these AVR's are NOT regulated.

In my case I've been using an Akari brand for 2 years now, it replaced another Akari AVR that I used for over 5 years at napamana ko pa sa brother ko, di naman nasira but I had to replace it with a higher capacity - besides tv, sinama ko na rin yung Amp and PS5.  What's important is you have the right capacity - add at least 25% of your total load so that you have some buffer.
