A new batch of Panny OLEDs arrived. These are not new models, it seems, but the JZ1000s from 2021. Sadly, prices have inflated to the point that LG C2's on clearance will end up being cheaper.

I'm not saying the JZ1000 is a bad tv, far from it, it's actually a great tv.  However, at these prices, the C2 seems to be the better bargain.

Posted Sony OLED reduced prices too, in case anyone is curious. These are 2022 K models.

Anson's ba yan?

*I asked kasi afaik, Anson's lang ata ang authorized na mag-carry ng Panasonic OLED dito sa bansa. Abensons does not allow*

Has anyone upgraded their old OLED TV to a new OLED TV? If so, why?

Using a 2018 LG 4K C8 65".  No thoughts of replacing it unless it conks out.  Every so often but very rarely, the TV turns itself off.  I just turn it back on and it works like normal.  Some thermal protection maybe although the TV is used in an airconditioned room at all times.

Same here. I have a B6 and last year, the IR receiver conked out apart from having some burn ins (windows icons and Netflix). Paid 2k(?) for the IR replacement and service. Was supposed to buy a new one because of the burn in and no new apps like hbo go and disney, but the replaced the screen for free, so just got a chromecast.

Yes, unfortunately for us, Samsung TVs in the Philippines only has a ONE year warranty. And that applies to their OLED line as well.

Where do you guys buy TVs nowadays? Anson's, FB marketplace?
I think will be looking for a TV at 30k to 45k range. Not looking for the best of the best pics and top of the line specs. More on brands that will last longer than 2-3 years of TCL. :D

Abenson kept a 2019 LG E9 OLED TV in their inventory for over 4 years? Dapat nabenta na yan within 12-24 months of release.

Feeling ko assigned unit yan sa isang boss sa Abenson that they're trying to unload.

Same here. So far, knock on wood, my 2 LG OLEDs have been great and reliable. I recently bought a Sony OLED but I seem to be happier usage wise with the LG. I've had several Samsung (non-OLED) panels both imported from the States and also bought locally and I find that they usually have power board / power capacity issues. And for some reason, I seem unlucky with Samsung since even a floor standing aircon and also a split type aircon also had power board issues. They don't seem reliable and design wise appears to always have issues with their power board components.

Very keen observation and valid point. I wonder where these units were used for that long...

If I owned an home theater or Apple store I'd pass off my personal unit as a 'demo unit' as an open box sale. ;-)

It would better than a personal 2nd hand.

Demo unit yan so odds are ~12hrs/day @ ~365days/year for ~4 years.

If personal unit yan then less than that

The Sony OLED's were all sold when I came back there this evening.  The lone Sony A80j on display that I checked out yesterday (2021 model) had about 4,800 display hours.

So my guesstimate is probably about 4,000 to 6,000 hours for the C1's and A1's and maybe 10,000 for the E9.

I'll be going back to that shop on Tuesday so I can ask if it's possible to check the LG 65E9's display hours (the posts here got me really curious!).  Most of the A1's and C1's are boxed so I'll probably not check one out since I'm not buying anyway. hehe

Btw, LG claims their panels have a 100k-hour lifespan (Sony uses LG panels).

My 55C1 after more than a year of use is around 2K++ hours. I consider it high since the ideal mileage I believe is around 2K per year.

Given this, 50K PHP for a C1 with 6K hours of use is not a bargain. Marami siguro na entice kase nilagay yung "original price" and how much ang "savings".

Someone here bought a sealed C1 for 49K++ PHP. That is a steal.

Wonder how is the warranty? Is it still 2 yrs from LG?

When the C1's were on clearance sale mid last year, the cheapest bnew units were at ₱65k and that was cash only via cash and carry sellers.  The display units were selling for ₱55k to ₱59k.

I think the ₱49k sealed box 55C1 unit that noob found is a one-off.  Those kinds of sales are jackpot deals that you will only see once a year.   This is similar to the Panasonic JZ1000 clearance sale in 2021.  Honestly, you'll only really hear about these on pdvd, btw.   ;D

Open box sales are essentially like buying a used tv, except you have a 2-year distributor warranty and you can pay in 0% installments with a credit card.  Even at 6,000 viewing hours, an LG 55C1 at ₱50k at 0% for 12-24 months is a still a good deal, in my humble opinion.  :)

Actually, when i saw the pricelist the price of LG C1 was 51,900(?); what was 49k in the pricelist is the LG A2(?) but i let the salesman see the pdvd post of bro azzileur which says it's 49k. the salesman went to the manager and the manager called someone. i waited patiently maybe for around 20 minutes.. whenvthe salesman came back he said that they are already preparing the paper works!! 😍

LG OLED's on clearance at the Abenson open-box sale: 55A1 (2,504 hours), 55C1 (4,325 hours), 65E9 (248 hours).  There's a Sony 55A80j on clearance but at ₱69k, it doesn't seem like a good deal.

Looks like the E9 was probably in storage for quite a while.

All of the above will get a 2-year distributor warranty and is available for 12-24 month 0% installment on most major credit cards.

LG 55A1 - ₱42,997

LG 55C1 - ₱49,997

LG 65E9 - ₱69,997

Does not have to be oled. Normal uhd v or led tvs, even from 2017, trumps most mediocre cinema's picture quality with regards to contrast. But thats not the point of actually watching in cinemas nowadays. The real reason is its still not out on torrent.

There was a time when cinema was still at par home theaters.  Specially those which are on high end malls.

But not that is not the case today.  Specially on the advent of streaming.

Agree the only reason to watch in Cinema is if you can't wait for the home video release.  Also the acoustics are still better in cinemas, speciallly if it is THX certified.

don't bother with those demo units. Even if walang maging problema in the next couple of years, it will still take it's toll in the long run.

if hindi pasok sa budget, then save up muna or get a lower unit instead. Also if hindi cash, mapapamahal ka. Save up to get your tv na cash. It's a far better deal.

Abenson must have a crap inventory system if that 4yo 65E9 had 248 hours. That's equivalent to less than a month's in-store display demo use.

True. It could also be a new panel was installed because it was repaired.
