I'm itching to switch to Cignal's Plan 430. Destiny's SD signal (analog) looks like mush compared to Sky Cable SD via Digibox.

+1 ... unfortunately for me, i have no option but to use Cablelink as i live in a condo ... but i am subscribed to their HD sports and basic digital package ... standout talaga HD channels - Nat Geo, Travel, Channel, at NBA palang sulit na ... the SD channels look very good with the digital cable box, but HD channels are really impressive

after months of having this unit, yesterday was the first time I tried it's media player feature and I'm very impressed with the picture and sound quality ... I plugged-in my 1TB WD Passport yesterday and watched a 1080p version of Frozen - picture and sound quality was superb ... I initially tried to play the movie on my more than 5-year old NMT, and sound was lagging badly - good to know that I have an alternative built-in on my TV before, gives me more time before I need to replace my NMT

I have been using the media player of the 51f5000 from the start since wala ako NMT sa manila..my NMT is at pampanga..ung NMT ko sa pampanga eh nahihirapan sa remux na harry pot pot..ung sa media player ng tv yakang yaka lol..sabagay 5 yrs old na xtreamer ko hehe

I only use the built-in media player for avi's and light mkv's. I don't want to tax the tv's proc too much.

In any case, I do agree that the PQ is excellent.

I leave the heavy stuff for my nmt.

how do you guys update the FW? I put the FW file on the usb stick and when I go to the update..it cannot see any FW file

Oct 2013- bought unit in Abenson's
March 20, 2013- unit won't turn on; busted panel board according to Samsung's tech; due for part replacement next week

Unit is only used for mkv viewing, 2 movies per day.

I think there is much to be desired in Samsungs Quality Control as far as this specific unit is concerned. Daming repairs.

good thing is that they offer good warranty service and 2-year warranty ... i think that the issues are due to bad batch on manufacturing, and once you got that unit or part replaced, it should be good to last for years

No complaints when it comes to their after-sales service. Responsive and no qualms when it comes to servicing the unit.

Also planning to get this. I inquired at Abensons Waltermart Erod yesterday and they have this promo. They are still advertising the Buy 1 Get 1 for 39.9k but you can opt out of the 28" tv for 31.9k

I'm also thinking if there are better or similar options to this TV? An LED that's the same price range, at least 42" and does not require 3D or smart features. Any recommendations guys?
