I'm planning to buy a new plasma to replace my led tv. The 51F5000 is tempting with the Abenson promo but it still is more expensive than the lower F4500. Is the 1080p/720p difference big or noticeable with the viewing details below.

Dark room with a window with blackout curtain
Bedroom right infront around 6 feet away
PS3/BD and 1080p large files, Cable with SD and HD channels

My current tv is a Samsung 46eh5300, its 1080p but is the F4500 better given its only 720p? Apologies for the newbie questions, been a led user since day 1 but plasmas nowadays are really tempting with ridiculous low prices.

Appreciate the inputs.

At 6 feet away, anything bigger than a 32 in tv would require a full hd screen, unless pixelation is ok with you. 6 feet away also is too close for a 51 in screen. I would recommend 9 or 10 feet away.

I'm eyeing the same TV, PhP 42,999 at Abenson with free 28" LED and I would really say that 720p is very much acceptable in a 42" but not in the same extent as with 51". You may not notice pixels (not pixelated, but you can literally see each pixel of the TV) at more than 6ft viewing distance however the fine detail that being delivered by Full HD is very evident in the same viewing distance.

Besides, the F4500 model, even with their clean panel technology provides very washed out colors (whitish), BIG Pixels and poor contrast. The difference of F5000 over the series F4500, is night and day.

Panasonic 50" x50 or x60 models (720p) are much much better than Samsung F4500 series.

Go for 51f5000. I just did, you won't regret it. Black is really black not grayish, color is very natural. It runs hot though. Full HD is the only way to go.

I too have the same model and very much happy with it. I gave the free tv to my mom and she's happy as well... hehehe

In gaming mas ok na dumaan sa receiver via hdmi. Pag direct sa tv anlakas ng kulay. Detailed masyado pag pinaprocess ng receiver. Masarap sa mata. Pag movies any setting ng tv is very good.

I also like the 51f5000 but I think it's too big for me. Viewing distance mostly is 4 to 6 feet only.

I use a 42 in full hd bravia on my ht bedroom and gaming and also at 6 ft away, which is about the min distance for a 42 in, for a 51 in - definitely too close imho.. Medio nakaka hilo na and you get to see the pixels na.

Chances are, you'd get used to it soon enough. That distance is about right for the size, imo. THX recommends a 5' viewing distance for a 50" screen for the most “immersive cinematic experience.”

Yes, 50 inch full HD requires only 1.6 meters or 5 ft 3 inches.  You can actually sit nearer if your eyes can tolerate it, and the height of the TV is comfortable for your neck.

I was told that the free 28" led retails between 14k to 15k, can't remember the exact figure.

The free TV model is 28F4000 which is priced in Sights and Sound for P12200 (of course higher in Abenson)

Abenson apparently dont want to deduct the price of the free TV if you dont want it.

Kung pwede nga lang sana na outright deduction yung price nung free TV so lalabas na around 30K+ lang yung Full HD plasma

Hmmm...your feedbacks are quite helpful. BTW, any idea as to how a Panny UT30 might compare to this (should I decide to stick to a 42 incher)

the free TV i got was 28F4100. I think it has minor improvements over 28F4000.
am not sure if its a newer model or just a variant.
i think one additional USB port was added which allows file transfer directly from the usb ports.

the best feature of the TV for me is the ability of Samsung to decode DTS audio files.
LG and Sony can decode dolby digital but not DTS from movie files via usb port.

Enjoying mine so much.
I also sold my free led for 12k, it is a 28f4100 model too.
A very satisfied HD plasma owner here.
Still runs hot like most plasmas.

i was at Avant yesterday, unfortunately the 2 salesmen i talked to doesn't seem to know their work ... as mentioned above, the 12 month installment price totals to 33,597 using Metrobank CC ... i asked if how much kung cash price because the 30k+ cash price mentioned above was not indicated - sagot sa akin 42k+ daw pag cash, and they stuck to that cash price until i left them with disappointment ... i did not ask for a manager to confirm because i'm only planning to purchase the unit at the end of the month

Got the same info, raptor's,  when I inquired by phone last week. I was able to talk to Hugo, the branch head, and after a lengthy conversation with him what sir raptor mentioned is accurate.
