So baka power problem? There had been reports na some tv-usbs, hirap i-power ang large external hard disks without power adapters.

I suggest you leave your cell light to max. or 20 hindi na yata vivid ang image mo kung ganyan ka low ang light output ng panel. the ideal for light output for a plasma screen should be at least 30ft.-L.

Could you explain further?
"the ideal for light output for a plasma screen should be at least 30ft"
I find 20 very bright and image rendition is very good at 17
good for cable TV watching at 13 - watched I Robot on Fox Action last night
1080i Cignal HD output was very crisp especially the dark evening scenes
Action scenes have no issues with blur - so far very satisfied with the screen performance

I ask abenson about it last week, they said na pang september lang daw. The current promo for this is at 44k for cash then you will have a free 28 inch samsung led tv worth around 12k. What's good about this is that they are offering the TV for 0% installment up to 24 months.

Langya, parang mas magandang deal yung
44K for 24mos labas 1,833.33Php lang per month meron ka pang extra 28-incher LED TV
magaan buwanan pero mas mahaba ang bayaran

Sa 33K for 12mos 2,750Php per month, eh - wala pang extra TV

sorry, cash price pala nabigay ko. its around 48k pag binili using card and up to 24 months. although the deal is still not that bad. If you are going to sell the TV for 12K, the TV will still be at 36K then divide it through 24 months, 1500 lang monthly papatak. I believe its not for all abenson branch, yung nasa farmers, hindi alam yung promo na toh. Also, kausapin mo na lang yun sales person, pede pa maghaggle ng price if i know.

did you reformat the drive after you got it?

meron kasamang back-up software yang HDD and formatted in a certain way

Weekend sale ata sila kaya ganun ung price nung kumuha ako.  I check Abenson Avant and abenson robinson,
same ang promo.  LG50LN5400 ata yung isang promo tv nila, 40k din.

I just inquired at avant in Alabang town center, I was quoted the same price. And it is only applicable during weekends (fri-sun). I'll get this for sure.

Mine got no problem with heat since day one my TPC master friend helped me installed 6 pcs. 120 mm. blue LED lighted PC fans at all vents at the back of the TV. Even without aircon on, temps went down several degrees as measured with a digital thermometer. Take note that this baby is being used over 10 hours as a PC monitor on an HTPC set up.
Very satisfied with this plasma!

Ramdam mo yung init around 12 inches away the TV.

Hot! Just finished watching The Hobbit via USB portable HDD
Half way through the moive it got really hot - back top vents and front screen
This thing needs air flow around it to survive the 5-years of service I expe
Serious air flow or air conditioning - 25C ambient already managed temps

I am very very happy with the picture quality
I followed the settings posted in a link on page 3 I think
The results are very very good - details of every surface are brought to life
I can actually identify moss and lichen on surfaces of rocks and tree bark in the movie
- where the scenes were actual live scenery footage compared to CG

Impressive - bang for the buck indeed
Now if I could just situate the screen with the freaking 5.1 system downstairs

mine is warmer on the front than in the back. At first I assumed that the backside would be warmer because of all the vents that are located there. I guess I was wrong  ^-^

However, this worries me in summer time. As we all know summer heat here in the Philippines is very freaking HOT! So, I guess its time to turn on the Aircon! (Ooohhh the electric bill!   :'( )

But still 50 inch Full HD for 30k! Come on!

Ang Panny plasma, this year lang yata nakagawa ng 1080p plasma without cooling fans.

Just touch the front glass.

one thing i noticed about my unit is that on the picture size setting, the "screen fit" option is grayed-out, not selectable - i'm assuming that this is equivalent to the "just" setting on my Panny ... the default screen size is 16:9 ... the result is that the lower part of tv broadcast is not fully viewable, and i've notice this on channel 5 news wherein there's a scrolling news bar at the bottom ... i can remedy this by using zoom and adjusting position, but that impacts the viewable area at the top of the screen ... any suggestions on how you set your tv for regular cable viewing to eliminate this issue - better yet, if there's a way to enable the screen fit option

I also noticed this. I believe it's related to the TV's overscan. But unlike on the Panasonic P50C10, there are no settings for overscan on the 51F5000.

On Panny, "Just" is short for "Justify," which means full screen with no stretching in the center, but with stretching on the left and right sides.  This is intended as a compromise between "Full" and "Zoom," where you minimize the stretching on Full, yet at the same time minimize cropping on Zoom.

On Sammy, "16:9" means full screen with overscan; "Screen Fit" means full screen without overscan.  However, Screen Fit only works on 1080i, 1080p and 720p sources.  Otherwise, "Screen Fit" will be be grayed out on the menu.

To see everything, you have to use 4:3.  But there's no way to see everything without pillarboxing from low-res 4:3 analog.

Yung ABC5 specs ang may deperensiya.  The TV station should provide some allowance on the edges to assure compatibility.

Just actually means EXACT in Japanese.   ;)   No nuance at all.  Dapat perfect.

Just screen
Just 12 oclock
Just 1000 Yen
Just price
Just size
Just weight   ;D
Just waist  - walang tyan  ;D ;D
Just meet - napiso sa ulo or nasapok sa mukha -  Just example is Marquez' KO punch of Manny   ;D ;D ;D
Just hit - kapag bullseye
You are my JUST.   ;D ;D ;D
JUST for you...(wife's most favorite store slogan by Labi/Yamada - we are still debating the actual interpretation of this  ;D)

Puede ring JUST lang (Just Desu) in any situation na exacto.   ;D

I don't think the Japanese understand the meaning of the word Justify sa formatting or stretching.   Never heard them use that and they have been using Just in their vernacular as above bago pa naimbento ang TV  ;)
