It's possible na dumami over time. Mine is just 1 right now and can be ignored. Pero if i have the option na replace yung unit then i'd rather go with that option than ignore it.

Good to hear that your issue has been resolved. I just called abensons glorietta to follow up on my dead pixel issue. They will follow up with Samsung and get in touch with me within 30 mins time.

I hope to get a better after sales service from them. Right now i'm still using the unit since nahirapan ako i-setup so bawiin ko man lang yung hirap.

There are some info on the net that shows some ways to fix dead pixels. Might try this one to see if it does work. Pero right now i'd rather have the unit replaced by them than me trying to fix it.

they were very slow in assisting me with my issue, so i posted my complaint on their facebook page, sandali lang may mga nag-comment na about their service and napilitan siguro sila mag-respond and immediately did corrective actions ... tingin ko kung di ko ginawa yon they would have insisted in just repairing the unit

I tested this immediately as soon as i turned on the tv. Connected my laptop to the TV then loaded a blank white web page.

I noticed immediately the dead pixel although its very tiny since kita mo agad black dot.

I don't notice the dead pixel watching movies and other normal activities na gagawin mo sa TV. So for me it's not really a big deal but since nasa warranty period and they told me na pag may dead pixel i-replace nila ang unit ko then why not.

Siyempre iba pa din pag completely no issues ang unit mo.

Buti nakita yung DP sa store when we bought it. Right or near the center on both units kaya it can't be ignored. So far so good naman. Yun lang wala ng break in kasi sabak na agad sa gamit.

Maybe the burn in helps.

Kasi sa hse, the plasma is used sa living room, pang cable lang.

And max na yung 4 hrs kasi cable tv gets boring. hehehehhe

Ive had no issues with mine to date, had it for about 3 or 4 months now.

my burn in is technique is to setting it on white wash full settings on brightness and contrast for 24 hours.  this makes the process faster, i can enjoy the tv without worries 2nd day palang

I think i have to take back what I wrote. The person I talked to was really accomodating. Hopefully tuloy tuloy.

Samsung and abensons called me this morning and a samsung technician will visit the unit to check. Samsung will forward the report to abenson. Abenson advised me that I insist na replace ang unit since kakabili pa lang.

I will really insist na for replacement ang unit since last Sunday ko lang nabili to.

Samsung just visited my unit and wrote a technical report already. Unit is for replacement. Called abensons immediately and inform them. They told me that earliest they will deliver the unit will be Thursday and latest is Friday.

So far so good. I will be closely examining the tv this time around.

kung alam lang ng 'samson' este samsung at abenson na karamihan o lahat ng bumili at nagpapalit ng units ay from metikulosong members ng PDVD, sa malamang asar-talo na haha!

baka akala nila madispose nila ang mga units ng ganun na lamang - mali sila.

imagine kung magkano na ang kanilang lugi at abala...?

duda ko kaya naibenta na mura ang model na ito dahil yang batch na yan ang na reject sa US & other countries. tayo ang bagsakan ng mga basura nila. sad but true. no offense po sa mga nakabili ha.

Konting abala lang siguro.  Hindi naman lugi.  Ibabalik lang nila sa Samsung yan, OK na.  Ang yaman ng Samsung, bale wala sa Samsung yan. 

Hindi siguro reject sa US.  Pag US, 110 volt only, not multi-volt.  At walang F5000 plasma sa US. 

Ewan natin kung reject from other countries like Australia, Thailand, etc.  Pero parang malabo, ang yaman kasi ng Samsung e.

finally got my replacement tv this afternoon ... i immediately ran a series of test and observed the unit closely, this time it's perfect - no dead pixels or vertical green line

The moment i heard that my cuzin bought this F5000 plasma i coudn't consider that it's a series 5 pdp until i saw it physically. coz all i know that if it is a series 5 pdp the correct variant name would be F550 not 5000? and any lesser than F550 it would be the series 4 since i don't care about the series 4 pdp so i don't have any idea the features of series 4 pdp. Anyway i thought their F5000 is not a plasma but an LED panel instead but the price of that thing is so dirt cheap for a 51 inch. LED at saka full hd pa naging curios nako nito. So i did pay a personal visit to my cuzin's house to check it out so there it is a plasma panel indeed, hahahaha...but ahhh haven't heard my cuzin any complain about this such as defects dead pixel etc....other than it's a very reflective daw parang vanity mirror. lol....

Im impressed with the tv so far. Still using the unit while waiting for my replacement unit. No regrets in buying this one kahit na may minor defect. Honestly i can live with the 1 dead pixel even if di nila replace unit. Pero syempre......replace na lang.

Size makes a big difference coming from a 42 inch panasonic plasma. Experimenting with the tv using different movies with 5xxp to 1080p. Movies lower than 1080p still looks great on this tv (one reason is na-upscale na sia ng media player ko). The 1080p movies............. Excellent.

Bottomline is Im happy with my purchase and watching movies on this plasma tv.

anyway, is the green vertical line problem / issue is only for this Samsung model or does it affect other models as well?

Mga bro, question. I have been observing very closely the TV since i got it from the store. Actually, dahil dito sa pdvd naging OC ata ako, looking but not hoping to spot a DP :-)

Anyway, so far so good. Thing is that napansin ko lang na kung letters ang naka appear sa TV, parang malabo like yung parental guidance na words parang di clear. I also observed yung channel numbers parang ragged ang edges. Am not sure if nasanay lang ako sa LED kase yung ang pinalitan nya ( Sony EX410). Pero sa mga HD channels naman OK siya, very HD clear talaga.

Ganito po ba talaga ito sa mga non-HD channels? Thanks.

i have this TV for a little over a month now and i love it!
especially for it's value. samsung's inbuilt media player is awesome at playing and decoding various media formats. name it and it will play without a hitch. MKVs w high bitrate, flv, wmv, mov, DTS-HD, except Dolby TRUE HD. still my only gripe is the screen's glossy finish, making it reflective. but then again, thats to be expected from a plasma, good thing i have blackout curtains in my room.

are you saying the SD channels before were sharper in your LED TV?
the compared TVs may not be of equal series (knowing Sony) may edge enhancement yun sigurado
dun ko nga lalo na-appreciate PQ ng plasma, eh, yung over at artificial sharpening ng LED TVs

pag SD yung material mo dapat eh pump up mo yung sharpness(as matter of fact yung default setting na sharpness na 20 ok na yun eh..)wag mo gawin zero ang resulta yan hindi na masyado vivid ang mga SD images mo,ka walang-wala buhay.

I think it goes with the other model as well. Meron sister-in-law ko, 43' 720p 2010 model have 3 horizontal black lines. It started after 1 3/4 yrs of used.

Got my replacement unit. No more dead pixel. Doing some more test watching back to the future trilogy. Break in time.
