Natakot na naman yata ako to purchase this model... :(

Kung may takot, hanap ka na lang ng iba. Sa daming units na pinaayos o pinalitan, sapat na para iwasan. Medyo may kasamang risk ang purchase.

Also enjoying mine. =)

Do you guys do the 100hours break-in?

For now tinigil ko muna dynamic and movie mode. Standard mode lang muna. Or ok lang na mataas na agad contrast?

it has 2 year warranty from reputable brand ... more expensive models does not guarantee that you won't have a problem ... mas maganda nga magka problema during warranty, libre palit or repair
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

I recommend this tv. First plasma ko sir and hindi ako nagsisi. Between this and SonyW654, I chose this and no regrets. Big screen + PQ! =)

I'll break-in my unit up to 100 hours so I watch with no black bars at the moment.
Also followed the calibration settings provided in page 3 but I set the contrast to 90 instead of 100.

My nephew and I also bought this model.
Mine's been running for 15 hours while his is at 120+ hours already. We've not encountered any problems yet.

I see sir. Ako din I watch na din with no black bars, encountered IR with it, mostly info from remote (title, menu options) although nawawala din naman after a while.

It doesn't matter which brand you get as it's optical.

No one's stopping you from getting the most expensive brand, but it won't be any better than the 200 peso kind.

if u intend to use the tv's optical out you'll be disappointed pcm signal lang ang lumabas dyan basta ang source galing sa mga tv's hdmi ports.

Not familiar with pcm signals but i intend to use optical to be able to output the sound from usb downloads to my ht. and for ps3 games though i dont want to use this plasma for that.

it would be best to get the input audio from dvd, bd, or nmt source, not from the tv if you want HD audio
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

Nope, di po sayang yan. Connect your TV's optical out to the optical in of your receiver. Then set the TV's speaker settings to external speaker and select DTS. Sound output will be very much different as compared to PCM (when speaker settings set to TV, dolby and DTS are grayed out).

As what sir raptor said, it's better to have an external player. In the meantime enjoy your TV and your HT. ;)

raptor is right...there's no way you can get DTS from the tv's optical out, you would know that coz your HT would indicate in its display on what type of signal is receiving.

A I see. So as long as sa external player siya ok na? Will try it out soon, though I don't have bluray movies yet for my ps3. Maghunt muna din ako ng optical cable, hehe. Katamad mag-mall dahil sa trapik.

In the meantime I am breaking-in my unit with slides provided by anchit. Thanks sir! Running around 3 hours pa lang. Hehe. Sana mawala na ung mga issues na na-encounter ko.

regarding optical cable, just saw the Audio Pro brand in Ace Hardware. price is around P600+ and cable length is 1.5 meters.

The TV got extended use during xmas and xmas eve from friends and relatives who paid us a visit. Outside of the occasional stuck pixel, there have been absolutely no issues at all with PQ, response rate and IR.

Over 30 hours of use logged and did not go through any break-in slides or anything of the sort.

Default modes are Standard for cable and Movie mode for HDMI. Sports and Game modes have not yet been used. Manufacture date is July 2013 with firmware version 1024.1.

Needless to say, I have been very happy with this purchase.

:)

Same here, no issues so far after 3 weeks of use. Mon-Fri TV use average of 3hrs/day. Sat-Sun movie mode, average 8hrs/day. Extremely satisfied with this purchase. Coming from LED, this TV now has become my standard when it comes to PQ (haven't even tried tweaking the calibration settings yet).

Sir, did you update your firmware? Is there a significant difference compared to the stock firmware? TIA!
