Why and how does the hard drive "disconnect randomly"?

i dont know why, havent tried using a thumbdrive and ibang brand na hardrive

while watching may mag pop up na message na disconnect bla bla. cant remember the exact text

do you guys experience the same thing?

Try changing the cable. Or the HD could be faulty as well. Process of elimination muna. If it exihibits the same symptom like the rest, pwede naman pacheck sa Samsung tech yung USB port.

tried that already, still ganun parin it disconnects

pero sa inyo tuloy tuloy ba ang pagplay ng movie in 720p or 1080p?

The only time i experienced this is stutter sa frame ng movie. Pero found out that the drive is faulty because even in my Measy media player ganun na din ang symptoms.

watched two 6 hours marathon with 1 hour break using my 1tb wd portable..no issues whatsoever..

files used bourne trilogy 1080p approx 15gb each..and hunter x hunter 720p

try mo ikonek sa pc or laptop ang hdd kasi duda ko yan ang may sira. may isang hdd ako na kusang nadidisconnect both from pc at laptop. try other drive and play the same movie.

You might want to check your usb cable. I have a HDD that does not seem to get recognized by my laptop. Replaced the usb cable. Issue fixed.

pero sa inyo tuloy tuloy ba ang pagplay ng movie in 720p or 1080p?

the only problem that I encounter is kapag matagal ng nanunuud (estimated 3-4 movies ata) then balik ako sa regular tv broadcast.  from there, mga after 5-10 mins mag re-reboot yung tv.

anyway, enclosure ba gamit mo or talagang external drive ?

Have you tried updating firmware?

I have 1tb HDD USB 3.0, kahit 10 hours viewing hindi nag didisconnect

I also have a 500gb HDD USB3.0. Once ko pa lang na-encounter na nadisconnect. Pero so far ok naman na. movie marathon din.

it's actually just standard def Star Sports on Destiny Cable. I want to get Cignal HD nga for my room.

if u have xbox one, the better your cable viewing coz it will convert your cignal's 1080i to a pure 1080p/60fps thus motion is soo good parang kang nanood ng 24p na movie.

Just read the entire thread, now I am even more confused. I currently have a 42" Panny plasma model 30 and would be getting a new tv which is 50" or bigger. Now, I dunno if I should get this Samsung or Devant 58" LED or Haier 56" LED.

I also got this tv and im super happy with it! yesterday though I bout a wd 1tb my passport external hard drive, when I plugged it the tv does not recognize it. other hard drives naman nababas. what do you think the problem is and how can I fix it? thanks!

If I am not mistaken, there is a complete batch of 1TB WD portable drives that are defective. I also have a 1TB WD portable which I bought a from a group on site before. It is barely detected by any device sadly.

the drive works with the computer, I just came from SM to check out the hard drive out, plugged it in other Samsung tv, funny thing is that it works with all other LED and LCD TV's but when we plugged it to other models of plasma it would not work

Planning to buy a bedroom TV where I am currently assigned, and the Samsung 5300 (seems equivalent to the 5100) is the only 1080p plasma I can find for around $690 at Amazon.  Too bad I passed on the 50ST50 for the same price last year. 

I checked the latest $399 42 inch 720p plasmas from Panasonic, LG and Samsung.  While LG seems to be the best choice among the 720ps, the screen door effect, even for 42 inchers, bothers me even in the store's display room.   Paano na kung 50 incher.  Wala na lahat ng 1080p Panasonics kaya I'm even considering 1080 LEDs na.
