was in ayala fairview terraces mall this weekend. while waiting for the wife, i went inside abenson to check on the 51h5000. interested on this unit but only if the f8500 is absolutely no longer available when i receive my bonus come december. i asked the sales guy if they still have a closed box unit. he said they only have a demo unit which has been running intermittently for only 2 weeks. i dared him to check the mrt using mute-7,3,7-enter. the mrt was about 1400 hours! sales guys will say anything just to make a sale.
and this makes me wonder. are there really no stocks left or is abenson just trying to dump their demo units first before releasing the other stocks?

Really hard to know. But as per my experience with Avant Trinoma it took a while for the manager to call other branches (abensons) to get a unit for me. In fact it took a bit longer and they gave me and my wife bottled water while waiting for confirmation that there's a stock available. I even humored my wife not to drink the water in case there's no unit available, they'll be charging us for the bottled water.

It's unlikely that they will not give you an available closed-box unit. 
 
The purchasers of big appliance stores know that 1080p plasmas do not sell well, so they usually have very few stocks on hand.
 
It's hard to anticipate when demand for higher-end plasmas will sudenly spike, since the buyers are just a small group of enthusiasts --- a small minority compared with the general buying public.

Nadeliver na unit ko kanina. 0 din MRT. When i use dead pixel test slides. Merong isa pag white and green bg and seen pag one foot away mukha ko sa panel. Nawawala pag red and blue. Medyo malapit sa gitna pero di ko nakikita kahit white bg pag more than a foot away.

I can live with it. in fact i wouldn't have noticed it if I did not intentionally looked at it, but at the back of my mind there's a voice whispering: "7 days replacement warranty"

My dilemma is that since sealed ang deliveries, there's a chance na meron o higit pang DP sa bago. what if kapapalit umabot ako sa 7 days?

Should i ask for replacement?  Bulacan ang location ko. Should i contact samsung or avant? Paano kung mas maraming dead pixel ang replacement?

You should call avant they will be the ones coordinating with them. When I bought my f5000 last year, meron din dead pixels. Konti lang naman, yes di nga siya totally bothersome pero still why settle for it kung pwede naman nila palitan.

I called abenson's glorietta about it then they coordinated with Samsung. Samsung went to our place and checked then suggested na since bagong bili, replacement na lang. Within two weeks I got a new TV that has no dead pixels.

Dahil sa full color slides ko lang napansin yung kaisa-isang yun. Kahit ba isa pwede palitan?

Yes sir, maayos naman kausap mga tao dun. pati nagassist sa purchase ko (Andy) tinetext ako ngayon coordinating the technician's visit. di lang siya aware na nagkakadead pixel ang plasma pero after explaining okay naman.

One should check 5 colors (slides) pala for dead pixels:

Red- for dead red subpixel
Blue- for dead Blue subpixel
Green- for dead green subpixel
Black- for stuck pixel (all RGB subpixels)
White- for dead pixel (all RGB subpixels)

there are a lot of online dead pixel tester. Just google it and select one or two from the results of the search

A Samsung Tech just looked at my H5000 and said he will recommend to Samsung to replace my unit because of one dead pixel.

What you saw was technically a stuck pixel and not a dead one. Dead pixels are black and can be seen easily using any plain color background. Stuck pixels are ok.

But since Samsung is replacing your panel anyway, who am I to argue? )

Btw, my panel doesn't go over 42 Celsius and the room doesn't have air-conditioning.

Guys, did you register your TV at the samsung.ph site? How come it states in the Registration that our TV (51H5000) has only a one-year warranty?

Nagtanong ako sa ansons and they dont have sammy  plasma anymore. Discontinued na ba ito?

Meron pa sa ansons makati pero demo unit 51f8500 , pero wala sila 51h5000 paran exclusive lang yun sa abenson. When i went to ansons makati last week nabenta ba nila yung 51f5000 for 32k pero demo unit , tingin ko hindi alam ng bumili na meron na 51h5000 .
