If the x7 does not do 1080i, does the x7 Mini do 1080i? Or progressive scan din kaya just like the x7?

I hope we have x7 Mini users here who can chime in :)

i'll check mine later. afaik may 1080i but most or all of the time yun "p" yun gamit ko.

Void your warranty! Custom Rom!

But try flashing latest official firmware first, baka may fix na!?

sir @flashDB, and other masters/experts here......newbie lang po ako....I noticed na me OTA upgrade na ang MINIX V7 natin...but I have not tried it yet...I'm still using the firmware update na 008 yung lumabas last 1.1.2013.....when I browsed the minix forum...I notice na me Modified FW created by a certain @HardwareGuru....from the way I understand his modified FW, though not official, does not require rooting the device and that it does not use "overlay" technique to get a 1080p....but rather he claim that it is a true 1080p thus smooth yung movies, etc...ito yung link.. http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?10061-HardwareGuru-Rom-03-Firmware-for-Neo-X7....have anyone of you tried this???

for the X7 users, have you tried using it with USB 2TB powered drives? how was the performance? also does this allow HDMI passthrough for audio?

audio pass-through works. just change it in the settings. RK-pass... na-detect naman ng receiver kung anung signal yun pinadadala.  im using mx player.

1TB palang nagamit ko pero may mga naka attached pang iba.

1TB + 4GB USB + microSD + wireless dongle.  so far no issues naman.

im using mx player.  dont waste time on xbmc kasi hindi pa perfect.  pwede naman pagtiisan pero why bother.

es explorer + mx player = solve!  just enable the pass through incase you want to get Dolby and DTS via receiver.

dont upgrade yet to 009 firmware kasi unfinished pa yan. working but some bugs. pinaka stable daw yun 005 (where i started) and 006c (as per reviews sa forum)

@flashDB, clink this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.archos.mediacenter.videofree&hl=en and after that its codecs:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.m4rk3t.libcopy2&hl=en...

The above is the free version, which I am using since satisfied naman ako....sa codecs nya, meron audio file (.ac3 something) na hindi nya ma-play....just try it yourself......and tell us your thoughts about it....btw, if you like subtitles and there is none in your video file downloaded, sa archos app meron syang options to download them, which is very helpful for me since I like subtitles...

@flashDB

Pwede ang archos sa akin dahil simple lang and set-up ko for now....hehehe....

I have a query on using ethernet.....Meron kase akong WD na My Book Live 1 Terabyte....dun ko nilagay ang mga downloaded TV series ko...Sa xtreamer sidewinder 3 ko, I just plug the ethernet cable to connect the WD and the xtreamer and viola connected ang dalawa and I can access the movie files sa WD ko using xtreamer....

I tried doing this to Minix 7...disabled the wifi and enabled the ethernet option sa settings and plugged the cable to connect the WD with the Minix 7...... pero walang nangyari....hindi ma-recognize yung WD ko sa Minix 7....is there something wrong?

Ever since I loaded the Archos video player app into our Android devices,  I've been looking for an Android based NMT to run it on.

What I like most is that it automatically does what I have had to do manually on other NMTs,  saving hours of time. The user interface is also nice and sufficiently extensive.  Over the years,  we've used Measy,  XTreamer and Mede8er. We've also tried XMBC on a PC.  The Archos app,  IMHO,  is most the convenient.

The Minix Neo X7 so far seems to be a suitable platform to run the Archos app on.  It does come with its own media player app but I like the Archos app which costs about P250.  There is a free version though.

The only thing is the X7 will not take an internal disk,  and the USB is only version 2.0.  We use a NAS so this is really not an issue for me.

Sir, I have a Minix 7....How do you connect MINIX 7 thru NAS? can you give me a walkthrough on it?

yes you can use it via network.  you just have to get a player that supports playing the media file over the network.

i have yet to try the ethernet port.

@flashDB.....thank you for the answer...

But what about what I am doing as described here:

WD > ethernet > minix? tama ba intindi ko?  if yes dapat cross cable to be sure.  or gamit ka switch.

The WD My Book Live has an Ethernet port so, I use an Ethernet cable to connect directly to the Media Player....before I have that set up with my Xtreamer Sidewinder 3 (a media player) and the WD was recognized immediately...

I want the same set-up so, WD thru its Ethernet port directly connected using ethernet cable to MINIX X7 since Minix also has an Ethernet port....I do not know if I'm doing it right or if I am making any sense....newbie/noob here...

^ baka kaya mag detect ni xtreamer na x-over cable. i suggest you x-over you cable or use switch.

eto.
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/ethernet-crossover-cable/

minix > xover ethernet > wd

it should work by principle. it works on all devices i've tried except minix. pero dapat gumana. wala kasi ako NAS.
