Author Topic: Oldboyracers HT build (Read 203382 times)

Finally screen repair complete. 4 of the vertical lines that I had when 1st powered on have reappeared so hoping with use they will disappear again. I don't think it helped that the technician whacked the side of the screen trying to position it in the bracket housing. The cost has come down by a third due the quote being wrong all 3 power boards instead of 2. Now it's a mail to Panasonic to see if I can twist their arm for some goodwill

All afternoon yesterday spent cleaning & making the room like a proper HT room. Evening, showtime

- watched The Bourne Identity, The Bourne supremacy & The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy (again) later today.
I think I will have to charge entrance

word has got round fast & the seats are being booked already

One good thing, 2 of the vertical lines have disappeared so optimistic about the remaining 2.

No problem jeff, I'll take a few pics tomorrow & post them. Good news is 1 line disappeared this afternoon & the other this evening. Maybe it's a product of non use, the technician did say leave it a little while & it should get back to normal $:-\$

Looking at the pics I took this morning they do not look all that good, definitely does not show off the screen. I'm no camera man, I suppose I could have tried pausing the films as I was not using the flash. Lots of experimenting to be done by me

Thanx Gino but thankfully the lines have disappeared so hoping it stays that way. Rest assured there will be some movie marathons this weekend

Thanx nolax, I hope so too. The popcorn will have to wait, I have an abscess & I'm in a little agony but being able to watch the screen eases the pain a little

Thanx nolax, yep the audio is next. I've had a visit from a friend who organises classical play lists for a US radio station. He has a set of the 1st KEF reference speakers & was eager to hear my systems. Opera on the HT system was excellent & listening to my music on the audio system kept him very quiet - he was impressed. He obviously has better ears than me & from what he said I shall be playing with speaker placements. Now the HT is sorted it will give me more time to spend on the audio

Thanx Doc, yep pinoydvd members are welcome to visit. I think the viewing weekend started 2 days ago, we're just going in to start the Lord of the Rings trilogy
