As requested, the screen in action & no visible vertical lines.

2 shots from Dune (standard definition) before the screen problem

Front shot before turning screen on.

Long shot (Riddick) showing LED bulkhead lighting.

Riddick slicing open the underside of the mummy 'beast'.

2 shots from the Bourne Legacy

Looking at the pics I took this morning they do not look all that good, definitely does not show off the screen. I'm no camera man, I suppose I could have tried pausing the films as I was not using the flash. Lots of experimenting to be done by me   ;) :)

wow...nice huge screen in action..I agree with you sir.. I think PQ is much better in actual... Congrats on your HT sir..."Now Showing" na ba?

Thanx jeff, I think the answer for a cameraman like me it to take shots slowish moving films. things like the Bourne quadrilogy & Riddick are pretty fast moving, no flash means shutter on camera open longer = not clear image. Watching Lord of the Rings last night & the PQ was really good although in standard definition, I will try a few more pics to see if I can get it right  :)

All set for the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight May 2. I hope that room has cable. It's pay per view so you must call it in advance.

Hi Gino thanks for the heads up, unfortunately no cable feed the HT room yet. At the time I didn't want it but I've changed my mind so it will be added during the year. I don't do pay per view, the only time I did the fight lasted 1 punch, my guy got knocked out. On paper it should have been a cracking fight & his excuse was "I didn't think he would come at me from the bell", famous last words. I'm quite happy to watch the reruns on the 50" for the time being  :)

I know what you mean. My first and only paid venue ticket for a Pacquiao fight yielded a dud of a fight.

Thanx for following the thread kiwimig, not quite finished yet. The louvres for the air.con went back for modification, they forgot about the remote control so putting in a 3" wide strip of black mesh. Also I want the mounting changed as it will be removed regularly for maintenance.

A saying I used to use in the UK - crap happens. The other thing I didn't realise is you can't record TV programs here, I was going to record & download to my server so it's a rethink. My set top box in the UK had a 1TB hard drive & could record 3 channels at once so it looks as if I was spoilt  :)

Skycable in Manila offers iRecord set tops. I'm not sure if it's a simple recording device or has all the features you have in the UK. Not too sure what services are available there in Cebu.

Thanx for that Gino, maybe things have changed a little. When I was searching for a provider 12 - 18 months ago recording programs seemed to be a no no, maybe I got it wrong. I'm with Cignal here in Cebu on satellite as I'm a little out of the way for fiber  >:( >:( >:(  I don't think they do a PVR (personal video recorder) so I'll have see if there is a way of recording from their box. It's not my area of expertise so open to suggestions.

I managed to get a small discount, no charge for the screen repair, eventual cost P42.5K  :( :( :(
After a week of viewing the pain of the cost is slowly disappearing  ;D ;D ;D
The next upgrade is unfortunately not HT or Audio, my good wife wants a motorbike so I'd better keep her happy  >:D

Sir OBR,
Maybe you could try using this plasma tv break-in color slide show...
Hope it could help eliminate those unwanted line :)

http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/hdtv-video-displays-processors/52673-plasma-break-how-properly-break-your-new-plasma-display.html

Hi Louie, 1 line kept appearing & disappearing last night so decided to try this slide show & after 5 minutes the lines increased to a total of 16, 12 on 1 side & 4 on the other so going to give that a miss for a little while.

OBR, Good to see the screen fixed... It's really disappointing to shell out extra dough for the fix, the anxiety while waiting for the parts and the hoped to get things work. Finally, you're happy with results and enjoying your HT. As you said, the pain of extra cost is slowly fading every time you see the smiles and enjoyment of your family. The experience of life like movies is priceless. Congrats...! ;)

Thanx audiojunkie, unfortunately the fix will be a little more expensive. To keep the wife happy I've agreed to replace her motorbike, at least it will be cheaper to run than the car  :)

I saw a two axis swinging stand fan. It swung sideways and vertically. I think this will be a good fan to air out our rooms against mold.

The one I saw was a black Camel fan. Below is the company link but I am not sure what particular model. They may have Cebu distribution. Or similar fans from other brands.

Thanx for that Gino, quite surprised to see a 5 year warranty on the motor so not bad at all. At the moment I have an Asahi twin turbo fan, 1 on top of the other so can adjust for 2 separate air streams but no oscillation.
I will have a look & see if I can source - at the moment, fingers crossed mold is not a problem. Only a few spiders webs to sort out hopefully my vacuum cleaner will do the trick.

Hello,

I really love the set up. Of course the gears are awesome but I appreciate more the quality of the design and build. Seems like everything has been well thought of and executed.

So this was what Erwin was telling me about when he was doing my sound treatment. He was absolutely right.

What I love about your set up is that despite the awesome gears, you were able to accomplish making the room the star and not the gears.

Awesome job
