One of my tests cds has an annotated frequency sweep. I find that more meaningful than an spl meter. What you hear is what you are getting.

Hi Gino, that's also something I need to invest in - test CD's.

Hi toyfactor & thanks, it's not actually a TV, it's an 85" commercial Plasma display screen. Panansonic TH-85VX200W. I quite happy with it so far.

great display ! i like it..

could you pm me the price ? that may be workable for my setup :).

Update :- back row of seats installed today. I've taken a few photos, they're not very good, taken in a hurry. I'll take some better ones after the acoustic panel install.

Front left to rear right.

A couple of screen shots while watching Dune in standard definition. They turned out brighter than the actual screen images so I will have to tune up my camera skills.

Thanks Gino, at the moment it's very very hot. the heat off the gears necessitates an air con. unit running. I'm still waiting for the power supply to be installed so having to make do with the fan in the pics. I definitely need to drop the screen 4" so that will be the 1st job.

Looking good now OBR... Can't wait to see the fabric skin over the acoustic panels....

Any provision of extra power outlets in case you need to plug any  electrical devices like fans in the photos. This is to minimized extension wires running across the floor.

Thanks audiojunkie, acoustic panels are being installed as I write & once I am happy I will be looking at covering them.
The only reason I am using extension leads is because we are still on temporary power & cannot power up the panel boards. I have air con & a ceiling fan so that should sort out the cooling, there are 4 outlets behind the screen & there will be 2 Richard Gray's so I think I have enough outlet distribution. What you are seeing in the photos is very temporary - honest  :)

Update pics will have to be tomorrow, camera memory card full & low battery. Will be going back to site shortly to supervise the completion of the acoustic panel install & will probably stay overnight.

Just curious to see the cover and how the fixation on your finished wall. Typical in some builds, acoustic panels were left exposed without any other material over it that might negate the main purpose. Yes, I remember in one of the photos shown the ceiling fan. Do you think it will not affect the surround sound effects in the movies? It's good have extra power outlet provisions for future requirement.

Seemed like your girls are bored watching Dune. I suggest you plug in some Tagalog drama/love story flicks to keep their interest. I'm sure those movies will maximize your high end setup.

I'm sure they'd prefer watching some afternoon soap opera on your 85" plasma. ;D

Hi audiojunkie, I think the effect of the ceiling fan on the surround sound will be minimal, I may be wrong but I will be doing some thorough checks with it on & off. Yes your quite right about power outlets but I'm sure I have enough, the 2 power conditioners have 4 outlets each + I will be using power strips where needed & that will leave 2 wall outlets free. As for my idea of covering the acoustic panels with fabric, it looks as though I will be shelving that idea. Having seen the finished install I rather like it as it is - photos below.
