Looking for an upgrade is the fun part. My guess you are already looking at your PJ options. Nyahaha!

To be honest Doc I won't start looking untill I know that the Panny cannot be repaired. I'll just have to suffer with my 50" pioneer for the moment  :(.

Thanx sir Obet, a belated Merry Xmas to you & your family & may you have a great new Year.
Things are settling down slowly, we're still unpacking boxes & have work going on off the punch list. A little touching up still needs to be done before I can refit the acoustic panels. I'll get there but frustrating after waiting for power for 2 months.

Thanx for the information Louie, I'll need all the help I can get with PJ's. I don't know anything about the PJ's that have come on the market over the last 2 years so I'll be a bit of a novice. JVC used to be the best PJ's but I'm not so sure now.
A belated Merry Xmas to you & your family & have a happy & prosperous New Year  :)

A few hurried pics of the temporary audio set up. I will be having a purpose built rack shortly after after Xmas when I'm happy with positioning of the gears. Considering it's a living area the SQ at the moment is not bad so satisfied for the moment.

Looking at it is already a statement. Even for non audiophiliac visitors would admire it as an elegant piece of furniture. I would surmise the performance is audio nirvana.

Thanx Doc, yes it sounds pretty good at the moment considering I'm still burning in. I have one visitors quote "it's sounds pretty damn good to me". I'll update with the SQ in a few weeks.

Thanx DTNS, temporary in the respect that the rack dimensions are not correct, It was my HT rack in the UK so needs some modifications. The amps run hot so I need a rack I can fit cooling fans to.
Yes that's a GoldenEar, well spotted, a ForceField 4.
The floorstanders are Mordaunt Short - Performance 6 LE  ;D

Thanx magnum, I've got to be sure I've got the right gears in the correct positions, there are 13 pieces of kit including the 50" TV which will sit on top of the rack. There is a smaller rack to the right of the right speaker, at the moment it houses the turntable, music server, NAS server & wireless router.

About time I updated this thread, I've been busy working for the boss to get the house & all my belongings sorted.
Good & bad news :-
Bad - I had the HT room door locked overnight for about 2 months while we were without power & the room has been attacked by mold/mildew. I've spent a day cleaning down with oxygen bleach to kill it but will go over the walls again with a 'tea tree oil' solution which will help to prevent further outbreaks. I am considering using a dehumidifier whilst the room is empty as I have no real way of ventilating the room. It's the one thing I didn't think of, it's not something I've experienced before. The A.C. has a dehumidifying setting so that will be OK while watching films.
Good - The wall painting has been completed & I have the acoustic panels refitted to the walls.
The best news of all is I have a technician recommended by Panasonic coming tomorrow to attempt a repair on the 85" plasma. Talking to the technician it sounds promising, P2.5K for the visit & P5K for the repair. Fingers & legs crossed everyone  :)
The louvre's to cover the AC unit had to go back as the remote wouldn't work, having a 3" strip of wire mesh fitted at the bottom so hopefully that will solve the problem.
As soon as the HT room is back to normal I'll take some pics now I have a tripod for the camera.

My home audio room was the same whennI reclaimed it. I wiped hard surfaces clean, brought out chairs for sunning. Washed the cushions. I let lots of sunshine in. I kept fans to keep air moving. In due time it cleared up.

Molds like:

1. stagnant air
2. lack of UV
3. humidity

Fight these and it should be gone. You need to keep using the room with air moving to prevent reinfestation.

Thanx for that Gino,
In the UK it's only present under extreme conditions, I must admit I never gave it a thought. I've spent a lot of time searching the net for ways of preventing it's re appearance & decided on a regime to prevent further growth. Hopefully I'll keep it under control.

My room has two doors which I leave open when not in use. 2-3 times a week I leave than fan on a few minutes. I use the room that much, no need to use the fans. I leave the blinds open to let sunshine in. Never had problems since.

Mold likes leather. If you have leather, clean it regularly or avoid it altogether.

The country is very humid and any room near ground level will eventually get it. They come from contaminated  furniture and construction supply. No way around it. That is why I avoided pads in my room. I had my sofa wrapped in vinyl that looks like leather. Everything I have in my room is hard enough to be wiped clean.

My top rooms are hot. They don't get molds.

I only have the 1 entrance & no windows so the room doesn't get any sun or air circulation unless I stand a fan in the doorway to act as an extract. It's the only room in the house that needs forced circulation. I'm leaving the doors open at the moment & with a wipe over with a 'tea tree oil' solution hope it will prevent further growth. I'll be doing regular vacuum cleaning, I've decided the HT room & Audio set up is my domain for cleaning. I have no leather & the seats are fabric but I'll be attacking them with the vacuum cleaner so fingers crossed.

You will not be able to remove mold 100%. Welcome to the Philippines. But you can manage it. Don't go OC on getting rid of it. You will go mad.

The doors can be closed. Air need not be evacuated. Air just needs to move around. Run an oscillating fan to air it out with the door closed. Run the AC at least once a week. Spores are sucked into the AC. Being damp and unused, it gets populated. Running it airs it out too.

It's a shocker no doubt but it can be managed. The key is room use. The more it is used, the more molds are controlled.

I tell you my reclaimed room was the worst case scenario. I got it back.

Sir OBR perhaps a dehumidifier will help maintain the moisture inside the room and a UV light will kill mold spores. Both of which are available locally, though i am not sure on where to source. Perhaps Ace hardware will be a good start.

Thanks for the information Gino, I've checked this morning & no sign of contamination so I'm doing something right. Unfortunately the room won't be used for a while but I will put the AC on & run the ceiling fan.
85" screen update, 2 of the 3 power boards need replacing, waiting for the quotation to come through. Don't know whether I'll watch any films because the Panny is in bits on the floor between the stage & 1st row of seats. If I do it'll mean sitting in the back row which may be a bit far for the 50" screen.
If parts are in Manila 5 days otherwise 3/4 weeks   >:(

Sorry to hear about the tv. But good news it can be fixed. Just bite the bullet. Good to hear your room infection is controlled.
