Topic: Ultraviolet and Blu-ray

A friend is sending some of his Blu ray movies to me. Although I don't have plans of keeping all of it, I'm a bit confused on the terminology on some of the case and on what he says.
He said he just download the UV and never used the disc, some sets has digital copy and dvd.

I tried searching for Ultraviolet and some says you have to register on the net to watch the disc, some says you don't have to and the disc will still play. So, which is true ?

What's a digital copy ?

Ultraviolet is a digital copy that you need to go to their website and register. Unfortunately it is region/area restricted. This means if you are outside the US and its territories you will not be permitted to get it.

but will I still be able to watch the disc with labels such as "Blu-ray + Ultraviolet ?"

Your BD disk has the movie. But the uv has a code given with the disk/case you got. The code is the one used for you to download the digital copy. But in the US only as explained.

I see... I thought I cannot use the blu ray disc with ultraviolet tags since some says that I have to connect to the internet and register before I can watch the blu ray disc.
